App won’t open

Repeatedly crashes

Response from developer

We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with the app closing unexpectedly after launching it. We have observed this issue earlier, which may affect a small number of customers upgrading from older versions of the app (i.e. 5.0 or 5.1 to latest 5.4). This issue is also under investigation by our development team, who will be addressing it in our next app update. In the meantime, the workaround is simply to delete the app and re-install it from the App Store. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Unusable

The old version of the app wasn’t perfect but at least it works. The new version is terrible. It doesn’t display the right info and half the time it won’t even let you add trips properly. What the h?

Not bad

Fairly intuitive interface, really simple. Used to not be so great, but it has tremendously improved. Still lacking a few features, such as direct access to Aeroplan, but other than that it’s pretty good.

Fire your developers and start over

This has to be the most comically bad app I’ve ever interacted with. The app itself maybe 50% of the time, and the other 50% requires a reboot. Within the app, I’m lucky if anything actually works - “switch seats” is a dead button that triggers nothing.

Modify my reservation? Forget about it.

Contact Air Canada? Doesn’t work either. And when I tried to call, I was told they will only accept calls within two days of my reservation due to high work queues.

Based on the app UX and their level of service, I will never book Air Canada again

6+ weeks since booking system upgrade

Still no altitude functionality and still no seat maps when selecting flights

Bad update

The recent update(s) seems to have changed a lot and it looks much nicer although a lot less user friendly. I can’t even seem to look up multi-city flights, what’s the point of taking that out?

Response from developer

Unfortunately, the app never offered multi-city booking functionality. We do plan to bring this feature to the app in a future update. In the meantime, you can book a multi-city itinerary through aircanada.com. Thank you.

Won’t let me pay!!

I’m trying to book flights via the app and it has a technical issue when I click on ‘pay now’ - then when I went to book via the website the same flights are $30 more each... the ease of use of the app is great, but there’s not much point if I can’t actually book my flights... :(

Just doesn’t work

After the last update, the app asked to change password. So I changed it and checked it on my laptop. It works all fine but just couldn’t log in to the app!!! Tried changing it again, still not working! Don’t bother downloading it.

Not the same login as website??!!

Why does this app have completely different login credentials than the online website? (Whee you are forced to create one to even buy a ticket)

Why wouldn’t air canada link their profile systems together? This makes no sense.

Missing flight info

I don’t trust this app. On both my inbound and outbound flights AC34 Sydney->Vancouver->Toronto and AC33 Toronto->Vancouver->Sydney the app only shows Vancouver as the destination. To verify I am correctly travelling to my real final destination I have to log into my computer and use the air canada website. I don’t see the point of this app if it does not show my entire booking end to end.
