  • Useful, but poorly organized

Wimbledon had a very intuitive iPad app years back, but generally majors just don’t put any effort into it.
LATEST/HOME PAGE has top stories with their own article links, Arthur Ashe current match score, and some videos.
SCORES has live scores and completed matches, but no option to filter your favorite players.
SCHEDULE is the order of play.
PLAYERS is where you select your favorite players from A-Z, but then again, you can’t filter your favorites (for that you gotta go to MORE, select settings, then favorites).
MORE has a bunch of links, some of which should be in the PLAYERS section (photos), SCORES (Matchcast, Watch) and others on LATEST/HOME PAGE (news and draws) I would expand PLAYERS and SCORES, then build from there. MORE should be the main home page menu. It’s just hard to navigate.

  • The app doesn’t open up once downloaded

  • USOpen Tennis

Loved the tennis. We’ll broadcast saw quite a lot of matches. Would have liked more than one channel like Wimbledon.
  • Awful experience. Switched back to website!

App takes 8 seconds to boot up on an iPhone X. That is absurd! What makes it worse is coming back to check scores after using other apps for a few minutes this app has to start up all over again for another 8 seconds. That’s horrible multitasking! So bad I switched back to using their website. Also horrible is seeing only three scores on screen at a time. Make a more compact scoring list so we don’t have to scroll forever in early rounds when there’s are dozens of matches. Your website at least shows 4 and espn manages to show twice as many. Let us customize buttons at bottom. The draw is more used than the players section!!

  • Double fault on the draw

The men’s singles draw is automatically displayed. The draw should default to the women’s singles draw on odd days. The messaging between this app and the US Open commercials for gender equality is way off.

Also not sure what the point is of choosing favorite players. The news feed doesn’t filter on my faves.

  • Where are the player interviews

The app is suited for users not “onsite”. When onsite it’s just too slow moving thru it. Was very difficult to see scores around the grounds. I ended up using Google which was suboptimal.

Seems post match player interviews are very limited - super hard to find also.

    Usopen radio is very good.
  • Mitzi’s comments on the open

Wow, my husband and I are from Ca. And we’re amazed at how clean New York is, and how kind the people of New York have been to us.. we are having a wonderful experience!!! I will definitely recommend this Open to all my Tennis friends when I get back home.. thank you for putting on a great Grand Slam. Mitzi Styer, RN

  • better than last year

The first thing I would fix is when you get the red numbers alerting you to something needing to be addressed, have a way to actually know what those alerts are and then have a way to get rid of them. I keep getting them, I have no way of knowing what they are for or how to get rid of them.

Overall, the app is better than last year’s edition but still is lacking when compared to the Wimbledon app. I would compare the US Open to the Wimbledon app and then make your changes. This tournament does the absolute best at making money. Put a little more of that money into a good app which could be made the best. You have the best tournament in the world in the best location. It is time to make the app as good as the tournament. Quit making excuses.

  • Where are the post-match press interviews?

This app is OK if you want to keep up with the scores and draws (although it is a bit tasteless to have the prize money above the draws), but the news section is very unfriendly and the post match interviews are impossible to find - the odd one appears for a short while, then nothing.
  • Just Love It!

I was just looking for a place to write up this wonderful U.S. Open app. It is amazing. The real time scores, the links to videos, the news conferences and the graphics. In a world where very little is going right lately, this app sure is perfect. Kudos to those who designed it and those who maintain it and keep it running. It really is a grand slam all the way!
