  • Great app

This is a must have and does what it says very well. My only negative comment is that you can't change the background colour which makes it a bit hard to read for those of us with poor eyesight. Black on white please.
  • Nice app

Would be better if it was for dumber people
  • Does what it says on the tin!

Compared to a few other apps I've tried, this one seems to beat them hands down. Really easy to use, sweet interface and plenty of data about each node. I'm still keeping iNet app installed though as it has a few features that are missing from scany (eg. better bonjour browser IMHO).
  • Works well, tiny buttons

Works as intended. Machine name detection and resolution works well across many OSes.

Some of the control buttons are too small and as others have said, the color scheme is a bit weird.

Too bad it does not have ettercap-esqe ARP poisoning abilities or libpcap sniffing abilities. If those were present then it could really be used for serious network disruption diagnoses.

  • No problems - works as advertised

I use this app occasionally (along with several other similar prgms) to help troubleshoot network connectivity issues, check ports and services, name resolution for host machines, etc. No app has been perfect but no complaints here. Works as advertised with nary a bug, freeze, or glitch. Fast and thorough subnet scanning too - some apps take several decades to scan all the ip's; this one doesn't.

  • Bought it based on reviews

Seems to work well without crashing. Like being able to scan ip ranges.
  • Great little app!

I use this at home and work to keep track of computers and devices on my network. Also great to confirm that unnecesary services are turned off on each computer.

A bit cofusing at first, but once you get the hang of the interface, it is really easy to use. The only thing I haven't figuted out how to do yet is find devices like wireless access points, even though they respond to a ping from my terminal and have a web interface.

  • Helps me connect all of my computers by giving accurate ip addresses of my network devices.

Helps me connect all of my computers by giving accurate ip addresses of my network devices. I am a non-expert laypersons who has some interests in advanced network configuration. This app is very helpful in navigating my home network. Highly recommend it !
  • Most comprehensive LAN security App

This is a MUST BUY for anyoneone involved with network security. Wether you are an IT professional, or just want to secure/investigate your LAN. My Kaspersky Internet Security Suit, immediately responded with a "Network Attack" as this tool was scanning the PC's ports. This showed that both products were "on the ball".

I will need to learn more about Scany, but I would definitely recommended it!

To the developer: This is a powerful tool, that you have here. You MUST develop its website, with detailed screen shots and instructions and set up a forum for the users. Run with this, and you will go from success to success, my man!

  • Very good

This is one of a couple of very handy network apps to have in your toolbox if you do network monitoring/diagnosis of home or small office networks. (Wifitrack being a recommendation for examining access points.)
I do agree with at least one other review that the color scheme can sometimes make text hard to read and some aspects of program flow could be more intuitive, which is the only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars.
