Terrible, Terrible, Terrible
Terrible. This thing has never worked. I have a G3 and spent $40 on a special iPhone case with lens to get this to work. It does not. I have developed 12 apps and have 50+ on my iPhone.
This is the worst app I have ever encountered. It simply does not work.
What prompted me to write this is that a friend with a Samsung was able to scan another friend's card flawlessly and my scan of the same card came out as gibberish.

Superb on iphone 4
Works amazingly well and absolutely simple to use.
I did a whole batch in 10 minutes.
Person's name it got in the right field each time. Only occasional miss spellings if accents or odd letter wrong with small text.
Seems to get telephone numbers and email address and web fields correctly 99.9% of time. Which is what you mainly want.
Company names 90% in the right field. Sometimes concatenated with first line of address. Simple to fix.
Address fields for town, street etc very hard to regularise as so different between countries (I had European, US and UK cards). But stored all information but frequently concatenated into one.
I suspect the camera on the iphone 4 makes a bit difference but still it's fast to scan in and process.

Great way to reduce business card clutter in my wallet. Hadnt used for a while due to issues with gmail syncing and all appears to be rectified. Yes the occasional edit is required after scanning, but over all, the hard work is done for you. One of my favourite itunes purchases.PCGlobalAU

Wow. It just works! And has NOT trashed all my contacts. Just about 100% accurate so long as the font on the card is clear and sharp. The only one it struggled with had text in a font which I can only describe as a messy version of Comic Sans. Entirely reasonable really!

Could be better
The app won't scan portrait business cards. I currently have about 50 of these. Please can you make the OCR work in portrait mode ASAP?
The OCR isn't as bad as other reviewers claim If the text is small, in an odd font or mixed with graphics like a lot of business cards tend to be, you can't expect perfect results every time. I found building a small platform from bits around my office (I.E. A cup, a paper weight) so the camera was perfectly stable and positioned helped no end.

Business card reader?? Really?!
This Is a shocking application, do not waste your money on it. What is a business card reader if it cannot read business cards? The level of inaccuracy combined with the not very user friendly interface make it quicker to type all the details into your contacts manually. You cannot trust this app to recognise characters properly, therefore you end up having to check every single number and letter for every card you scan!
Image Processing of the photographed card is poor.
Try CardCam, it's the same price and far more reliable. I'm using it on my 3GS and happy so far.Show lessDan37
Very Impressed
I was most impressed. I scanned about 40 business cards in less than 1/2 an hour and the accuracy was very good. For business cards that are standard in layout and font it gets 100% accuracy and for some less than that. I had a couple it really struggled with but then I also struggled reading them so I can't blame the program. Very impressed. Highly Recommended.Show lessTrevLeyb
Great App , Great Support
This is one of the most useful iPhone apps that I have. It bombed badly with the upgrade to iOS 4, trashing all contacts on my iPhone. I lodged a report to support at Shape Services, and received a very polite and apologetic response the same day, saying they expected an update in less than two weeks. The update was made available in less than a week. It works. It's terrific, and I just scanned a bunch of cards - 100% accurate, synced to address book, an no glitches.
Frankly, you don't expect this quality of support from a low cost phone app, and it speaks volumes for Shape Services, and the whole Apple iTunes ecosystem.Show lessBarry Mundy
