  • Great app. Some minor flaws but pretty decent

Works well if the lighting is decent. Pretty impressed with the results. Some minor flaws, for example, it sometimes puts o's instead of 0's in number fields but more unusual than the norm.

Warning - Does not work properly on the latest OS4 of iPhone and jumbles up info in your contacts. I would wait for a new release to ensure OS4 compatibility before purchasing if you are on OS4.

  • DO NOT BUY UNTIL UPDATED FOR iOS4

As a professional journalist, I love this app. It did need work for some cards but cut through a lot of typing for someone with a lot of new meetings every day. However, it stalled and crashed when I used it after installing iOS4 - and I then realised all my contacts had been wiped, including government ministers, business leaders and quiet sources. I was able to recover thanks to a backup, but would advise against purchasing until there's confirmation of iOS4 compatibility. After that I will return to my 4-star review.

  • Good recognition but field position needs work.

The software is very easy to use, and the accuracy with a reasonably lit and focused card is very good. However, although much better at separating out first and last names than a lot of card reader apps I've tried, this program still falls down on placement of addresses. Even with the address on separate lines on the card the app puts the whole address in one or two lines, including the postcode. It also does not get the UK postcode case right, giving GU1 1HV as Gu1 1Hv.

  • Reader works!

I just downloaded this app last week and have already scanned most of my contacts' business cards! This app works great for the most part. The OCR gets a little confused by odd fonts or 'over graphic' designs on some business cards, but consistently captures most of the important information. Well worth the small cost I'd say, just needs a little more tweeking on the OCR

  • Great app!

Works even better than expected! I'm using a 3GS and a Joby Gorillapod as a tripod stand for it. It scans card after card with only minor changes needed sometimes. Works for me indoors with only normal ambient lighting. Even leaves out the bracketed zero from international format phone numbers. Well worth the cost; it will save me hours doing a job that I've been putting off for ages. Well done to the developers!

  • Don

This app simply doesn't work with iPhone 3G, don't waste your money!!!
  • Plesantly surprised

I was very anxious buying this app as a lot of card readers are garbage. But this app does what it I'd supposed to quite well. Don't get me wrong, it is not perfect, as sometimes fields are misrwad or mislabeled, but overall, it works just fine. I am using it quite often with great results and therefore it is worth the investment. I would recommend this to anyone. Just make sure you have ample light.

  • Pretty good

Maybe it's because I deal with creative types, but most cards need a fair amount of work before they end up in Contacts. Extraneous text or text at right angles throws this app completely (though not surprisingly). The app has real problems with addresses and doesn't appear to have been localized for Australia as it doesn't know what to do with the state. The amount of correction you generally have to do means you could have just entered the data manually in the same time. It's good with numbers though and I suppose eliminates typos. But it's more fun with this app and you get to keep an image of the card (though you can't zoom or scroll without first exporting it to the Camera Roll). I really like the simulated leather look!

Anyway, it's a keeper but some updates to address handling, removing duplicate fields on a merge and enhancements for viewing the saved card would probably see this garner a higher average rating.

  • This version is at 100%

This app started off a but rough and not very accurate. The latest version scanned 6 cards at nearly 100% accuracy. I'm impressed.
  • OK

The scan and OCR are ok but there are some pretty lazy omissions. Firstly it should really recognize that brackets around a zero in an international phone number mean you need to leave the zero out. Also it doesn't seem to recognize that o means office m means mobile and f means fax before or after a number.

Secondly the a business card folder is great and I like that there is the original image held. It is an obvious option to just store the card here and not pass the details into contacts if you don't want to. I am in sales and I meet hundreds of people a year. I keep all their cards but I don't want every one of them in my contacts. Also since the OCR is far from perfect you don't want to have to worry about correcting every detail afterwards just the name and the card image in the folder is fine most of the time.

Having said that I think it is good enough to use but does require more effort after the card is input to use fully than it could.
