  • Absolutely terrible

Audio quality degraded with each subsequent track.
  • Bluetooth capable :)?

I love the app ive boughten it even for others. Do you think its worth making it play over blue tooth. Bands might buy it even more!
  • Avoid this one

The instructions is a page not found screen. It won’t access the mic, nor is there a button to access the mic. The user manual is the opposite of helpful. Based on the buttons, if it worked the you’d have a nice fourtrack. They won’t help you either.

We're very happy to help, but in order to do that you would have to contact us. You can reach us anytime at help@otreus.com. It's easy to grant access to the mic (for StudioMini or any other audio app) and we're looking forward to your email so we can help you get up and running.
  • can only record one track at a time

    useless for my purpose.

website is nonexistent and app seems to be abandoned
  • Studio Mini

Love it. Great app to record demos or just noodle around with sounds. File export could be better, and make sure you back up your jams. Recently upgraded a phone and lost everything! Still a very solid app though.

Thanks for the review! Sorry to hear about your songs. Email us at help@otreus.com and we can troubleshoot. 🧐 If you still have the old phone, of ir you ever backed it up to a computer we might still be able to recover them.
  • Awesome!!!

This thing is perfect!! Basic, great drum grooves, no bells or whistles to slow you down when capturing a fleeting idea! LOVE IT!!!!
  • Great app for collaboration

I bought this app to blend music from multiple sources during COVID-19 social distancing for our Sunday worship services. It works well, and the only frustration I have, as mentioned elsewhere, is the app does not play back through Bluetooth. While not critical, I would love to sit and listen to recordings through my Bluetooth speaker, and play with mixing levels to get the best blend, without having to use wired headphones. Still, it is a bargain for the price.

It's great to hear that you're able to continue making music safely! 🎶 And we're thrilled to hear that StudioMini is helpful to you. 🙏 We've been getting lots of Bluetooth requests, and I've tagged yours as well. It's definitely something we want to support in the future.
  • VERY RELIABLE APP

I’ve been using Studiomini for 6 years now!
And what it lacks in completeness and effects it MORE than makes up for in EASE OF USE.
It is the real-deal when it comes to “plug and play”.
The sound and clarity is also VERY SUPERIOR. It doesn’t require a lot of preamp boost to get volume. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE STUDIOMINI FOR LAYING DOWN IMMEDIATE SONG IDEAS IN THE MOMENT.
(I have tried to get started with Cubasis, Ableton, Auria Pro, et al and they all require LOTS of study and trial and error; not StudioMini ✌🏽)

Well, you just made our day, thank you so much for the review! 🙏 You've certainly hit on core aspects of our philosophy when it comes to creating software: rock-solid stability and ease of use are things that we will never compromise on. We hope to be able to give our fellow musicians a lot more, and are working hard towards that. 🛠
  • Best thing out there

Been using this for years since back when all I had was an iPod touch 2. Have even exported tracks to desktop for use in full studio recordings. It really is the best thing out there.
One tip is to always put dates and any details you can on recording names. I look back on things I recorded years ago and totally forgot about. So glad I found this app and that it remains usable on new iPhones.

Oh and the drums are extremely high quality sound

A classic! 👌 We have older devices that we keep for testing our software, and it's fun to pull out old iPhones and hold them next to iPhone Pro Max, what a difference. 🤳 We're so happy to hear that you're a long time user, thank you for your support! 🙏
  • Middling Program with major limitations

This software is quite an achievement compared to 4 track recorders from days of yore. Having said, once you get beyond its ability to allow you to lay down basic layered tracks on a phone - an iPhone 8 in my case – the apparent features frustrate rather than spawn creativity.

The problem is, the year is not 1995 and even back then, 4-tracks allowed for flexibility in adding vocal effects and provided inputs for drum machines with a range of tempos. This does neither, at least without high-tech savvy, and missing both those, a musician will experience huge frustration with the results.

I’ve recorded many a tune at an undesired pace, overly rushed or too draggy, and it’s a big disappointment to hear those songs now. And choices of reverb or echo would greatly enhance the experience also, but sadly, nada.

Added to that, there is no ability here to “punch-in” so any performance errors require the entire track to be stopped and redone. Big loss on that.

Finally, nothing can be played externally from within the program over Bluetooth, so forget about checking out an early mix in your car or Airplay.

All in all, for high schoolers or young amateurs, this has some usefulness, but unless the developers are actually active on improving this, keep expectations very low.

None of these things have been dealt with in the year or more I’ve had the program. Too bad.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, both on behalf of those considering downloading, and for us at Otreus who love feedback! 🙏 As musicians ourselves features like Punch and Effects are on our wish list also, so we're on the same page there. Bluetooth is a bit trickier, because it has inherent problems with large latency. This isn't an issue for playing back, but is a big issue when recording. It's the main reason we don't have Bluetooth support at this time, but it is definitely on our radar, especially as that technology evolves. Some of the things we take great pride in are audio quality, and impecable timing. Audio tracks are recorded as 16-bit 44.1 kHz WAV files, and there are no latency or timing issues. You can record in StudioMini, with an attached pro audio interface using pro mics etc., then drag and drop your WAVs into any DAW on your computer and continue your production to full mix. In the old days you mention, this is CD quality audio, whereas old tape multitracks let's just say left a lot to be desired when it came to audio quality. In terms of future features, we definitly have big plans. Developing software takes a ton of work and expense, so it's hard to promise a date, but hopefully soon we'll have news to share, stay tuned and thanks for buying!
