  • great app

This is a fantastic "game" for kids. It's functional, educational, fully self-explanatory and fun! My 6 yr old son loves this and I have the toddler version for my 4 yr old, which she loves, too. A home-run.
  • Great app!

I have only had this app for a few hours and I can all ready see the potential with my students. I teach special education k-3 so this is a great app for my struggling 2nd graders and my own 5 year old.

I do have a few suggestions. I would like to see them make more levels...2nd and 3rd grades at least. Secondly, I think it needs to be renamed by level not grades. My students will have a hard time playing kindergarten when they are in 2nd grade. If the name were teach me 1, teach me 2, etc. I wouldn't have to exaggerate the truth about their ability level. My last suggestion is to have rooms in the school house (1st grade) where you can focus on just sight words or math, etc.

I know this sounds like I don't like the app. I really see it benefiting my students. Just had a few suggestions.

  • The Best

The best! App available for those wanting to learn basic arithmetic and spelling/sight words (pre-k/kindergarten). Perfect combination of education and entertainment. Let's the child work at his/her own pace. Everything is verbally reinforced. Addition and subtraction are illustrated. Correct answers let the child earn coins to be used to buy stickers to create their own scene. My daughter can play this for hours and learn the whole time.

The parent or teacher can customize the app to focus on areas that the child needs T the appropriate level in a PIN secured area of the app. Multiple children can use the same app each with their own account.

This app would easily be worth $10 or more. For a buck this is the best educatonal value I know of in the app store.

  • Best early childhood educational app on ANY platform!

    Pros:
Adjustable levels for each child (which is handy for 4 yr old twins and a 6.5 yr old)
Separate accounts for each child - progress records for each.
Varying, random subject matter within each round. (sight words, addition, phonics, subtraction) (like circuit training for the brain -- like real life)
    Simple, clean, attractive graphics.
Great audio - as enthusiastic as can be without being annoying.
Excellent reward system - not only does it truly incentivize them to continue to make progress, it also teaches good lessons about earning and saving: more desirable rewards cost more so they learn that they can't spend every coin they earn if they want the 'good stuff.'
The level of difficulty increases slowly enough that they gain a good deal of confidence before meeting new challenges.
When they make a mistake, the app tells them exactly what is wrong ("That is the word, him. Find the word, in.) and how to complete the task correctly.
It's fun!!! It's just plain fun for the kids and wonderfully satisfying for the adults to watch their children's self esteem and self confidence grow by leaps and bounds with their continued success with this game.
    Well done, 24x7 Digital!

    Cons:
    There isn't yet a TeachMe: Grades 1 & 2, Grades 3 & 4, etc...

I truly hope similar apps are in the works for the older set!

  • American English

Ahhhhhh even though has a different name it is still has an American accent with no option to change to british accent or record your own voice - otherwise would be a lovely app. Please can next release have british voice option?
  • Original

It is a really interesting way to teach children, not just basic spelling and math, but also earning and spending and gaining and losing and gaining something else.
  • Do not buy in uk

Bit unhappy as they've changed the name from 'kindergarden' to 'reception' to attract uk buyers, but obviously without any understanding of education in the uk. Doesn't use phonics so spelling of no use in the UK.
  • Well Done App

TeachMe Kindergarten is a well done app. I use it daily in my special education program as a station to reinforce reading lessons. One benefit of this app is that you can assign five users and track their progress. It speaks directions and provides multiple choice answers. It repeats questions when necessary, gently informs of wrong answers, and reinforces when the student is correct. It is easy to use and needs little instruction. It engages the students and they can be self contained with it. I've searched for many apps to use with my students; this is the best I've found so far.

  • AWESOME !

WOW ! This app is awesome !!! I got it for my just turned 6 yo daughter who is in Kindergarten. My 8 you son got an ipod for Christmas and I added this to it for her to try. Well....he can't get it back from her now ! She wants to play this and Magic Math all the time. I am going to have to get her one ! This app is so much fun, it is more like a game, then learning. She loves earning coins and buying stickers for her scenes. I love that she loves learning and is having fun doing it ! Math, spelling and sight words all in one ! You can set levels and get scores. You have to get this one ! Hope they come out with the 3rd grade on soon !

  • Wow

We let our 2 1/2 year old play with this app as we also had the previous one. He has just turned 3 and knows all of it. With this app we really feel that he is now self taught in spelling and some maths at this early age. Thanks for a great app, you have given him a great start in life.
