Good App but....
This app is nice. I took me a bit to get used to it, but that was due to me, since my graphics program is Visio. There are a few lacking features that hamper a 5 star review.
1. It does not allow you to store custom shapes, and it will not let you copy a custom shape from one file to the next.
2. When an object is copied, it will only paste directly over the copied object. This is not to bad, unless you copy a group of objects, then it gets a bit tricky (impossible for me) to move the group to the new location all in one move. It is one piece at a time.😒
3. You can not add pages to a file. So you have to make a new file for the new page you want.
4. It also crashes when to much data is selected to move or copy, but I have not lost anything during those crashes, Microsoft should hire these folk.
This app is nice and worth the cost if you want to design something instead of playing a game on your iPad☺️Show lessold feller
Love it but hate it
Im gonna make this short because i have tried to write this like 5 times but my nickname was either too long or has already been used so my review keeps getting deleted. I love it because of its usefulness. It is an extremely useful app that i use for many things. The reason i hate it is because it glitches more than any other app i have seen. It sometimes will crash and sometimes (well actually most of the time) it wont let me redo something i did. So if i accidentally move something then i have to put it back in the same spot which can be so frustrating especially when it happens every 5 seconds.Show lessThatoneguy102938

I am taking my rating down a star because the dimension tools still does not work properly and I complained about this six months ago...nothing was done. I will put my star back if the developer fixes his bugs and takes care of his app.
Also, to you other idiots posting terrible "ripped off" reviews, grow a brain cell or two and open your eyes. Your obliviously to stupid to use this app, so walk away and shut your flapping lips.
(My initial review) This app appears to be unbelievable and amazing. As of right now I would pay $50 for this app. They have thought of just about everything and the placement of the tools is very well thought out. I am excited to use this app for future estimating purposes.
The people who have given this app, at least this new version, a bad review are crazy. They are either to dense to learn anything or they're not smart enough to take the time to watch the tutorials and learn what the app can do.

One great app!
This is one great app for 2D vector drawing on an iPad. If you are familiar with basic CAD programs or drawing programs like Illustrator or Inkscape, iDesign will not disappoint you. The basic cost is so low and the add-ons worth every penny. I have used this to create plans for various objects and they printed exactly to scale. I also like the fact that you can import files from other programs and tweek them in comfort on your iPad wherever you happen to be. Classroom in an app
Thank you for you continued support. I use vector drawing program illustrator daily and would like to wedge this into my AFK workflow. One thing about adobes products is that they have the classroom in a book series to help learn new features, and how to apply them as well as the basics for those new to the program. If their was a paid add on that had examples as well as text for learning that was really worthwhile, this app could set itself apart from the rest of the pack. Finally!
I've been using Illustrator, Freehand, Photoshop, CreatureHouse Expressions(not as well known, but still a personal favorite :) ) and other bezier/spline/nurbs programs professionally for ~20 years. Unless this app flat out implodes, I will remain very impressed and happy with what I have seen/done so far. I'm surprised at how the reviews can be so split. On a touch screen it has to be a different mindset, but I think an intelligent approach has been taken to the tools for use without a mouse and keyboard. Read the manual(download it from the web page if you want a preview). Yes, I would tweak it here and there, but it's already got plenty of power for my needs. Which in this case are more leisurely, but I still want control and results.
*To the author: get a trial version out. I'm happy I made the leap and chose this app (and bought the add-ons, too) but it was down to a coin toss against another 'no trial' app.Show lessXC077
Very Precise
When I was thinking about buying this app, I had my doubts but I can honestly say that this was worth every penny. Its extremely precise and easy to use. Not only does it get the job done, but it does it very well. This is multi-purpose and you'll find yourself using it for many things. Awesome, Portable drafting app !
Some have given this bad reviews, don't believe them ! This isn't angry birds so it takes more than 2 minutes to learn how to use it. It's a potable drafting app and very good at what it does. Ice had the app for about a year and its received updates which I found very helpful. I would consider this app a real bargain for what it does. I've designed everything from playground equipment to floor layout for a kitchen remodel and my most frequent use is design work for off road vehicle parts and roll cages. Everything can be scaled to actual size, angles, dimensions, etc. This app does more than I hoped for and has saved me tons of money on wasted material. Idea's
I purchased this app with no experience in computer aided drawing whatsoever. With the help of the tutorials I was up and running in no time. In short, I love this app, it is so easy to use and I can make changes along the way as an idea develops. It always saves my work and after I close the app and come back, it's always right where I left off. It has run flawlessly on my iPad from the very beginning. it has been very helpful. CAD for the pad for REAL
I have been doing mechanical drawing since 1962 and have used a variety of CAD on desktop systems over the years. IDesign is the fifth CAD for the iPad that I tried. The others attempted to be CAD, they were not, iDesign is true vector CAD with your finger. After a few minutes of test I was onto a new design and was amazed the app did not crash and was able to do everything I asked of it. In short I'm blown away with how fast I can work and how clean the final drawing was. After I finished drawing I decided to purchase the dimensioning tools for three bucks extra, they worked flawlessly. Even if you make a mistake you can easily fix it with this app. Export is the best, I was drawing on a 18" x 24" board (you can set the board to any size you need) and I was able to export six different ways, I chose email .JPG, the resulting email looked fantastic with the drawing pasted in automatically, also exports to SVG and PDF. The only reoccurring problem I had was that the layer hide button for the topmost layer is directly below the trash button and my fat finger would hit trash instead of layer, easily reversed with undo tho!
