Serious Accounting Error
The one accounting error I caught with this app (don't know if there's more) is that it doesn't do depreciation - period. Now, while its true that depreciation is a non-cash expense, it is not reflected in any of the reports. This means this app will actually cost you far more money than it's worth. Because depreciation can save you thousand of dollars in taxes each year.
For example, when you buy computers, machinery and equipment to use in your business, these are an expense to the business and must be written off to "repay" the business. Moreover, even if you don't believe that, you must at least believe that these equipments lose value over time and become worthless. And as such, these values must be reflected on your books.
Also, I want to point out that they also need to include the sale of capital asset - should you decide to sell your equipment - you are covered. Otherwise, this is not a real accounting software. At any rate, your profits and balances will be wrong until this issue is fixed.Show lessSam171717
Bookkeeping on the go...
As an accounting professional, I highly recommend this app for small businesses...!!! It will serve as a great tool for financial tracking, and also serve as a learning tool for non- accounting people. The help prompts are user friendly and the interface is quite intuitive.
When you couple a desktop device and a mobile device, this app performs at optimum levels. It doesn't have all the features of Quickbooks, but not everyone needs that!... And not everyone wants the QB's monopoly price!!Show lessblackdot142
Great start, but needs to import from bank
I've been using QuickBooks, which I loathe, for seven years. Since I might need to upgrade to OSX "Lion" (aka "Vista") I've been looking into QuickBooks alternatives because Intuit (shudder) doesn't deserve any more of my money. EasyBooks has a nice interface and a nice pricetag, but lacks one crucial feature: the ability to download transactions directly from my bank. This is a great timesaving feature of QuickBooks and is non-negotiable for an accounting program.
Also, if EasyBooks had an intelligent way to AUTOMATICALLY attach SCANNED receipts to DOWNLOADED transactions, all the better. Software exists that can recognize fields in a scanned receipt (eg Neat Receipts). What is needed is the ability to automatically recognize that a scanned or photographed receipt belongs to a particular downloaded transaction. That is what computers should be doing for us - eliminating such tedious work!

LOVE IT!!
I'm a PTA President and this app is perfect to keep tract of our finances. I've been using it for almost a year and I absolutely love it. It's so handy for me to have our checking account balance and savings balance right on my phone. And I love the fact that I can check it at anytime without having to bother my treasurer. Most used app in my inventory
I am a small business owner who writes all invoices on the iPhone In the field. I also write all estimates in the field from my iPhone (see 1 below). I love this app and I have tried a number of others (cheaper and more expensive). This is the one I have settled on to run my business accounting system. It fits my mobility needs and with a little tweaking would earn 5 stars from me. In order of priority:
1. Please add an estimate add-on for those of us who need it. I am forced to use a different app to do this and then retype into Easybooks later. Who wants to write the same info twice? There would of course need for the estimate to be convertible into an invoice with a simple convert or a copy mode like Invoice2go does it. Don't forget to add signature blocks, etc.
2. Really happy to see syncing. Sure would be nice to sync with something other than another iPhone or iPad. I use a pc desktop in my home office. I know. It's on it's way out but it's what is most used by small business for now.
3. Add a button to input services to remember and then recall them automatically when you need them to be inserted later (again like Invoice2go - but allow the user to organize them in a particular order).Show lessFlintA312
Very Happy with my purchase of Easy Books!!!!
This is a very good app for the small sole proprietorship. It took a few hours to figure out the double entry accounting but was well worth the time. I really like the reoccurring function because I have payments and purchases that come in on the same day every month. This program has actually taken my accounting and record keeping from a burden to a pure joy to keep track of while reducing my time and workload. Thanks!!

Excellent App
This app is what I've needed to replace my desktop/laptop software. I'm now even more mobile than before. This app allows you to set up multiple accounts, send invoices and purchase orders, reconcile accounts, etc. Great for small to medium size businesses. Yes, there are a few add-ons to purchase from within the app but even if you purchase them all, it's still less than Quickbooks or AccountEdge software. And at least you get the app free to try before buying anything. There are a lot of other apps out there that people purchase then feel like they got ripped off because the app didn't do what they needed and of course you can't get your money back. Try Easy Books. The developer is very active with this app. He has responded very quickly (taking time zones into consideration) to any and all of my messages and even has implemented some of my feedback. You also don't get that with a lot of developers ... There's a few more things I'd like to see added to the app ... cloud syncing instead of email backup is one. It would be great to be able to get more and different reports but the reports already available are a good start!Show lessCDKlass
the best accounting software I've come accross!
I've had my business for 2 years now and I just couldn't bear the thought of handling my accounts because all the software that I used -- MYOB, Quickbooks, did not make it easy for me to grasp what needed to be entered, where, which category, etc. I was so scared of making mistakes and screwing things up!
Along came Easy Books and I'm a true convert. Everything is so easy to set up--I didn't mind hand typing each of my transactions into the app because it offered me a great way to keep tabs on my biz. The reports are very helpful and customer support is great. it's only october and i'm already prepared for tax time!Show lessgnyma
Great app, it just works
I saw a review that says this app is for UK only with words like VAT and so on, NOT TRUE, you can change that to sales tax if you want, the same for a lot of other categories, I just got the 3.7 update, and I like the Include or exclude vat option plus a lot of other extras, I have tried a lot of other apps in this category and by far this is the best, customer service is 5 stars, these guys listen to there customers and there ideas if you have one to submit to them, like all accounting software you have to get used to using it, but by far this is one of the more simple one's to use, looking forward to estimates, mac version, and sync!! Very Effective
I have been using this app for about three months to make expense entries for my consulting business and my farm. No restriction on setting up multiple companies. I purchased the invoice module and use it to invoice my clients without needing to be in the office and they receive it immediately via email. Very easy to use. When I had questions, support was quick and helpful. I look forward to the MAC version and sync capability.
Update: In response to the comment from another user that this app is just for UK users... Not true. I use it regularly and I live and work in Texas and Oklahoma. Terms such as Vat are modifiable to reflect "Tax" etc. I now do all my invoicing with Easy Books on my iPad. Very useful program! Hurry with sync and MAC desktop version!Show lesskyotedan
