Description of Wheresit

Wheresit will guide you to a destination using your device's GPS and compass, no Internet required. Great for marking camping spots, finding geocaches, parked cars, and other treasures. Select a destination from the included free database of over a million landmarks in the US or create and save your own destinations.  Wheresit will monitor the distance and direction to any destination and display it on a compass rose.  Follow the compass to reach the destination. You can also filter landmarks to show only certain types of destinations and view them on a map screen if you are connected to the Internet. Wheresit is a fun app with many uses: • Use the internal database to find tourist attractions, historical markers, geographic features and other locations. • Mark the locations of things you want to find or find again and navigate to them; favorite fishing spots, a campsite in the woods, buried treasure, or your car at the mall. • Enter the coordinates of the geocaches and locate them. • Build your own map. Mark all the hazards and greens on a golf course so you can see the distances and directions of all hazards. Wheresit will never show you ads and no in-app purchases are required for full functionality.

  • Great App

Great for hiking and finding my car!
  • Doesn't really work for free

They say it works for free or you can load like 20,000 points for .99 cents. Well, first off you really can't do anything useful with it in free mode and secondly to purchase the points is not .99 as advertised in the app store, once your actually in the app it then says it's $1.99, but then after biting the bullet and clicking agree, when the charge actually comes through on your credit card turns out that it's been charged $2.99, so what's up with that?
