  • Amazing app

As a lawyer, this app is extremely helpful. It's fast and easy to use. It is like having west law or lexis and best of all, it is free. Thank you so much for developing this app.
  • Just love it

Oooooh my god, this is one of the greatest apps I have ever come across. Not only contains all US codes but it is so easy to use and also contains case law. This people has done a beautiful work and although there are only five stars to rate I emphatically will give it 7 stars.
  • Excellent App

This an excellent app. Thank you so much for this!
  • Updated

This provides a great public service for those who need quick case and statutory search but don't want to pay lexi$ or we$t for public domain material.
  • IOS 8 incompatibility

Fastcase is a wonderful app with lousy support. There is absolutely no reason why the company wouldn't be part of Apple's developer program so that they could secure an early release of the operating system so that their software will work with the new release.

As a result, the app doesn't work under iOS 8. At all. It hangs indefinitely. I called tech support and their response was only "we're aware and we're working on it." No prior warning informing me that if I upgrade my software will become toast.

So now, I have a useless brick of an app sitting on my iPad, with no idea of when an update will be released.

  • Login workaround: hit "Go" on the iPad keypad

For those getting Login crashes, don't hit the Login button. Hit "Go" on the keypad.
This is the best legal research app that I'm aware of. It helped me tremendously with my self-defense case and post trial motions. (The criminals got away, if it matters.) Fastcase allows the user to research relevant case law and statutes for any if 50 states, as well as for federal appeals and even U.S. Supreme Court decisions going back to the 1800's.

  • This is a great app (revised review)

Had a problem logging in, but my wife who is an attorney logged in on her phone with my id (she forgot hers and was in a hurry). She didn't log out so that is why it kept crashing when I tried to log in. App works great and is super helpful. Great for anyone doing legal research.
  • FastCase

I would first like to note that I am but a mere pre-law student so consider that when deciding how much stock to put into my review. I have had all access passes to both Westlaw and LexisNexis (about 6 months each). This app is not a complete replacement for either. That said, as a FREE tool to look up case law and statutory law in a pinch, this app is excellent! With a little practice you will be reading court rulings based on the doctrine of quantum meruit or discovering how 18 U.S.C Sec. 6002 discusses "immunity in general."
Cons: I don't like that you have to sign into the app every time you want to use it. This seems like a very unnecessary step considering that this app is free to use and the app contains none of my personal information. Secondly, an option to "shepardize" the case rulings is a must add feature. Access to case law is only as helpful as ones ability to ensure that what they are reading is in fact "good law".
All in all, I'd give the app a 9 out of 10. With a few tweaks and the addition of a "shepardize" feature, this app would be a 12 out of 10.

Having just started to explore the app, I am already impressed by its completeness and speed, particularly for a free app. Although I've been retired for about seven years now (after an active legal career of 35 years), it seems comparable to the early years of the emergence of computerized legal research (first LEXIS and then WestLaw), and that's without the add-ons available with the optional paid subscription. I no longer have a need for the add-ons, but if I did I would seriously evaluate the full system.

  • Can't beat it

Overall, this is a great app, but I'm writing a review to make some minor suggestions for improvements. First, the email on the website doesn't work, so I couldn't send customer service an email. Second, you can't change your password once you create an account. Please get these fixed.
