Crashes upon level completion unless you close all background tasks and reboot first
UPDATE #2 : Terminating the background tasks and turning the iPad off and then on again did allow me to complete a level without crashing, so that may also be a fix for other users experiencing the same crashing issue. Also, Fieldrunners support was very quick to respond to e-mails. It's a great game! :)
UPDATE : I am using a 1st-gen iPad running iOS 5.0, and from the crash logs it looks like a Low Memory issue, so perhaps turning the iPad completely off and on again before playing will help.

I guess I should have listened to the reviews.
I enjoyed playing the free Google Chrome version and decided to purchase the iPad version. Unfortunately it consistently crashes at the end of the Extended Grasslands level on Easy ... The second level That I am trying to play. When I tap "Done" after entering my name it crashes and boots me out.
Very disappointing, and since the app was last updated almost 9 months ago I have a bad feeling this issue will never get fixed.
If you are considering buying I would definitely wait until an update is released.Show lessthezonie
Well worth the money
Hesitated because reviews said it crashes. Then got it as it looked like a TD classic. Really stable so far no issues, using iPad 2. Fun. So addictive. I highly rate Sentinel 3, this is different but just as good. Free flowing mayhem that is slick and well designed. A lot of depth and features. Options allow for setting difficulty levels just right. Even playing with only 4 tower types is engaging. I am finding this is a long burner that will have plenty of replay value. PC and console games... history bye bye.Show lessBlade - Out of Office

Same great game
I've been playing the iPod version on my iPad and decided to get the iPad version despite the negative reviews of stability problems. I have not had any issues with this version.
If I were to have any issue it would be that I have to re-acquire my modest score standings to activate the additional playing fields. This is not really a problem since it was a good thing to relearn the lower levels.
As I said, I've been playing the iPod version on my iPad. It is nice to Have a real iPad version for the crisper graphics and a slightly better "touch."Show lessRPNlover
Excellent game which sometimes crashes
When I first reviewed this game I thought it was great and happily gave it five stars. When they came out with the first or second update which included Game Center support, I was very very unhappy with how unreliable it was, and how bad the game center support was. They've released more updates since that review, and now the game center support is pretty decent, but the app does tend to crash a bit too often.
My impression has been that the App usually crashes because it runs out of memory. I am running it on the original iPad, and I wonder if people running an iPad2 have significantly fewer crashes with it (because the iPad2 has more memory). I find that I have better luck with it if I turn off the music, and if I also make sure that background-ish tasks (such as Mail) are not running. With the current version of Fieldrunners and the current version of iOS, I have been able to finish every level that I've tried (on both easy and medium) without it crashing. I have not played many games on 'hard' difficulty, because I tend to lose those very quickly!
It crashes often enough that I cannot give 5-stars to the current version, but when it isn't crashing it is a very well-done game and a lot of fun to play, if you like tower-defense games. I personally enjoy it more than the other tower-defense games that I've bought for my iPad, except (of course) when it crashes!Show lessSongs72K

This is the best game I've Bought For The iPad but i crashes on later levels, This Has been happening for a view versions now. SUBATOMIC STUDIO'S please sort this out.
Also BRING OUT A VERSION FOR THE iMAC in The MAC STORE please if there was a reason that the mac store was there, then surely this is it.Show lessBillyMills
