  • Remarkable

Amazingly simple and intuitive drawing program. Try it!
  • Desserves a good reputation

Double tap with TWO fingers to zoom is correct, and not an inconvenience. I love that the two finger pinch gesture changes brush size and density. As an artist this is more useful to me personally than the zoom, but to each their own. Take a chance, its a great art app especially for getting a concept down professionally and quickly. Also if you hold down it offers copy as well the pleasantly surprising export, which quickly exports the top layer to the photo roll. Previous commenter encouraged my choice of taking chance, I thank them.

  • Surreal art experience for all ages & levels!

I loved the buttery smooth elegance before I even knew how to to more than change from the pencil to eraser.
Deceptively simple interface. Read the instructions at the App Store!! Then you go from loving it, just playing and gorgeous simplicity to a Ferrari of performance control.
In no other app have I produced more pieces that sell as prints, nor any with more raw joy of use.
The internal contradiction of its simplicity and depth: the koan of Art App's. Zen sketching. Transcend your previous art experience.

  • Read this

Well i saw the negative reviews and I thought i would try it and go for a gamble and Im glad i did. I think people get ahead of themselves instead of taking a moment and actually reading the instructions. Upon opening the app and trying it out i also was unable to zoom...at least i thought i couldnt. BUT THEN something amazing happened. I read the instructions. In order to zoom all you have to do is tap the screen with two fingers. When the menu appears you can use those same two fingers to zoom in and out. Normally the two finger pinch gesture is preset to change the brush size i believe this is the confusion. Thought i would help and try to clear that up for some people before they give up on a, from my humble 5 minute opinion, decent app.

  • The Best sketching app period!

I love using this app to sketch out my ideas then save them to photos next use it in other drawing apps that have color and fx.
I love the flow, ease and simplicity of this app. now it's been updated with it feels like its more precise and even more intuitive.
Don't even bother looking for other sketching apps. Unlike most drawing apps this will get your drawings looking professional and an amateur can actually draw the impressive examples you always see.

  • Best in class!

Everything works fine for me after the update. This is one of the best sketching apps out there and probably the best for iPhone. There is no shading and tonality out there like what exists in this app. I look forward to trying out the colored papers. The tools could be seen as non-intuitive but once you understand it it's impressive how such sensitive controls were packed into this app in a non-intrusive way.

  • Love the update!

I'm a relatively new user of ASKetch and tend to prefer older versions of software in general so I was a little hesitant to update but I'm so glad I did. The addition of color gives it a whole new dimension that's fantastic! The new pencil was easy enough to adjust to using as well.

I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for an easy to drawing app with quality features.

    Thank you for the release!

  • One of the best for sketching....but

...it ultimately lacks the basic functionality and options that I need to build on my sketches here.

I love this app and want to use it a lot more, but the lack of certain basic features often makes me put it down, so I'm writing this review in hopes that the developers read it, respond to it, and consider adding some of the basic features that could make this app an everyday thing for me.

My top three would be layers, ability to export as a PNG, or really any other alpha format readable by Photoshop, and ability to set document sizes so I can ensure what size/DPI I'm working at. If these features were in place- I'd easily give this the full five stars. Does anybody know if these pretty basic features are in the works? I'd even pay more for a pro version if they were.

  • Fantastic but needs improvement

This is a great app for drawing. It's simple and really unique. I have little artistic ability but I still am able to have a lot of fun.
It would be a lot more helpful if instructions were included, although its not really needed.
More importantly, the image quality needs to be better. I hope future updates will included several canvas sizes and higher resolution exports.

  • Seeing is Believing

I bought ASketch about three months ago and couldn't be happier. It seemed too good to be true when I bought it, but within 45 minutes of purchasing the app I finished a full drawing and was amazed at the realistic results! Since then, it's been a "go to" tool and lives with my most important apps on the first page of my iPad.

But this is the incredible part; when I meet fellow artists in school lounges and on the train to campus while I'm drawing in ASketch, they usually ask me what app I'm using. And 95% of the time, they in love with it before even buying-- Heck, I've even had a few friends (and a teacher) purchase it right on the spot! Plus, the final pieces have fooled a few folks into thinking these are actual graphite sketches. That's the power of ASketch's results. You won't be disappointed!!
