Great for newbies; handy for pros
I've considered myself a wine expert for several years and I run a wine bar/restaurant with 300 wines available. While I've never needed it professionally, I'll be taking the level 1 Somalier test soon - more for personal gratification. While this app helps consolidating grapes and their regions it does nothing to, for instance, break down the 1855 Classified Growths of Bordeaux. Which is fine - that's allot to ask. I recommend this app for all my new waitstaff and it's great for me when I have a brainfart on the floor. My request is for more focus on the food-pairings.Show lessTrigster6

Limited information on a global level
I purchased the app just recently. Being Australian the first thing I was hoping for was local information. While references are made to Australian wines and regions throughout the txt, in the country/region guide, Australia and New Zealand are not listed as are others.
While the core of the apps information is what is says it is, I am great full and pleased, it is very good, however needs a lot of work to globalise the app.

Why wasn't Pocket Wine around when I was younger and trying to impress? Just the thing you need on that first date - a quick glance at your iPhone, click on the food you want to order and hey presto! Nice wine app
This is a nice wine app packed with information on grape varieties and blends. I know my wines (have WSET qualification) but the subject is vast and you can't retain everything in your head. This is a great reference tool and for someone new to wine a very insightful introduction at a modest price. Wish I had this app years ago. Enjoy your wines!Show lessCar64

This wine app provides you with everything you will need, including wine styles, grape varieties, regional information, food matching, your own personalised wine taste profile and a glossary of terms.
