Be wary of this bank and their fraudulent practices

Avoid this bank at all costs. There are much better banks in the UAE that offer much better terms and treat their customers a lot better. Mashreq refuses to cancel my credit card, citing fees that were mentioned nowhere in the app. They claim that these fees are in their terms and conditions on their website, but I never used the website. Currently they're hijacking 25,000 AED while giving 0.15% interest on it (a joke basically) as a collateral for 9,000 AED credit card. If this is not customer deception and theft, I don't know what is. I have moved nearly 1 million AED away from this bank. Banks like Wio will decimate dinosaurs like Mashreq.
I'm still unable to get my money back. They're acting as if the account doesn't exist. Keep your money away from this bank.

Not able to change my number

I have been trying to change my mobile number since a year... i don't have access to the old one but its not changed till date... due to only this reason i had to make a new account in some other bank...

Impossible to open a Neo NXT account

I tap on Open Neo NXT account, it takes me to the app store via ‘Open’ button. In app store it takes me to the Mahreq app page where it says Open(app). I open the app and it takes me back to the same ‘Open’ button in the app. So basically I’m stuck in this loop and not getting anywhere.

App is great, bank is awful

The customer support from mashreq is terrible. The app is great so long as everything goes right. It’s super important to have a uae mobile. the back end databases mashreq uses are antiquated so the service model just can’t be modern. Good marketing and like I said app is good but it’s pointless unless you have a good bank.

Spams marketing through notifications

As it is a banking app you have to have all the notifications switched on. They know this and spam you about 5 marketing notifications daily. There is no way to switch this off.
