  • Buggy

So many bugs and I’m not talking about my entomology book. Highlighting feature is frequently flawed and when viewing photos you are reset to the top of the section. Many other smaller issues as well. Pretty disappointing for an app that has the monopoly on most of my current books.
  • Get with the times

This app is decent, but the fact that you have to click and drag to highlight and write notes, instead of just being able to work with a stylus (Apple Pencil, etc) irks me. It could be used much more efficiently. I really hope that the developer actually reads these reviews.
Positives: Haven’t ran into any problems with the app crashing, and pictures are very clear.
Overall: 2.5/5 until they fix the aforementioned bugs that others are talking about, and update the software to have functionality with Apple Pencil.

  • Room for improvement

Was great but has become very buggy. When I try to select text, often I can’t select multiple words and, when I can, it frequently won’t give me the option of highlighting the selected text. Frustrating.
  • Improvements or scrap it

Not practical for actual studies. Horrid search function that will not take to full phrases or combined words. Slow to scroll. Very poor user interface for fast functionality. It was a good idea but will take more than minor bug improvements to make this product work.
Try this: find a section in your book that has a set of three words together. It will search for one word in the phrase—even if you select all three words. And sometimes won’t go to any of those three words. And there is no way to search a certain chapter, instead of searching the whole book. Some of us have textbooks. 2000 pages is not searchable if you can’t pre-select the chapter or pages you want to search.
    No good for students.
I don’t understand why this is out of beta phase yet.

Why 2 stars at all? I sent an email and got a reply, which offered no solution, nonetheless I appreciated it.

Please make this functional because for some ebooks we have no option NOT to select this as the reading app.

  • Useless

This app seems to be useless. Sections of books appear to download correctly, only to immediately start downloading again. Deleting and redownloading the app does not help. Waste of time.
  • Urgent things to be improved

Excellent app to read but it doesn’t allow you to use it in split screen with applications to take notes(iPad). That is ridiculous, the whole reason to read is to make notes during your reading sessions, the application lacks of the most important feature it should have.
  • Good reading app

Works perfectly and allow me to search quickly through my different ressources.
Really need to get Spit screen support on iPad however...
  • Split screen support!!

Please add split screen support for iPad!!!
  • So much wasted potential

The books look great and the images are crisp. Unfortunately, navigation needs drastic improvements. When you move from one section to the next while scrolling, the app randomly jumps to the top of the previous section. This gets rather infuriating when the sections are large. Additionally, finding content can be a challenge when a textbook has 150+ chapters. While that may partly be the fault of the textbook, inkling should make some effort to group the chapters. The search function can be useful at times. However, occasionally it will find less relevant results and list those first. It should prioritize the headers over references. Overall, a potentially great product limited by subpar programming.

  • Too basic

Can’t change font size. Can’t optimize anything. Can’t delete titles I accidentally dowloaded as trials. Despite that I have bought over 1500$ worth books, even free apps provide all these small configurations. Very disappointed with such a multi-million dollar to not spend few bucks on small changes that could improve user experience. Above all zero regards to poor reviews and absolute lack of introspection.
