Utterly Amazing!

My wife and I were agog at how quickly our three 1/2 year old mastered understanding and expressing numbers. The iPad of course was a big part of the fascination for her. She was eager to use it and quickly grasped what to do.
We had similar success with their "Intro to Letters" App

Need more work on this apps

The application does not work well on ipad2 at all, I never saw a red rod and I regret that I paid the 5$!

Intro to Math

I imagine this app would be just fine for a pre-schooler, however, there is no place in the advertising that I could find that indicted age level. Trust me, do NOT buy this app for an 8 year old. I was very disappointed and feel as tho I have wasted my $5. I was hoping for a bit higher level so that said 8 year old could practice her adding and subtracting or at least come out with a better understanding of numbers. She is struggling in school even with tutoring. This app is not worth $5 to me and probably should not be worth $5 for any other child. It is extremely limited. Possibly $1 would be a more appropriate price. The sounds are bearable and at least it doesn't have obnoxious music. The graphics are simple and should be just fine for pre-schoolers and kindergarten.

OK but Overpriced

There are five games on this, and each one progresses from easy to more challenging with no way to skip over the easier parts. So my 4-year-old quickly got bored and wouldn't sit through having the numbers 1 to 10 read aloud or whatever to get to the harder part. Also, it's nice to look at but I can't figure out why it's priced fairly high at $4.99, when similar apps are $1.99.

Great idea, doesn't work

Love the idea of the app and grew up as a Montessori kid. The functionality is disappointing though. Not very responsive to dragging and touch and very slow to load portions of the game. Some parts don't seem to load at all. I'll keep checking for updates and hope it gets fixed so I can buy the letters game.

Intro to Maths

This is really excellent for teaching concepts, however the screen freezes quite often and you seem to have to start again. The tracing number activity one in particular, we have never managed to get past 2 as it freezes if you accidentally touch the edge of the number and little fingers (and bigger ones!) can rarely manage that. Others can similarly freeze even when the answer is correct but not cleaning placed.
But the four year old here absolutely loves it.

Playing and learning

I have no particular brief for or against the M. philosophy of education. It's a little tricky to spell, and it really seems an upper-middle-class phenomenon, both of which irritate me a little. However, I know that's got nothing to do with education.

I *do* like this app, because it seems to move in deliberate, thoughtful stages without over-focussing on specific details. It's enough for me that we think carefully about how we teach -- this app certainly does that.

And it has no Disney characters, which is a great relief.

WORST

Don't buy it - waste of money!

Very buggy and poor. Nil points

Three if the five exercises, 2, 4, and 5 do not work- well actually, exercise 2 might be working and I might be thick and not able to work it out.

It's also very diddly on the iPhone, I'd advise you to steer clear of the iPhone version even if it's debugged.

Looks beautiful, does not work.

How do o get my money back?

Room Mom Advertisement!!

We absolutely love the app. Our 5 yr old is already glued and proud of herself. We found this just in time before school begins so it's a fabulous working exercise to re-familiarize herself with the exact works she will be doing again. We love this and we just downloaded the Intro to Letters.. CAN'T WAIT for more Montessori apps. My wife is a room Mom and we both are very active in our girls education. We will certainly be sharing these apps with all the parents at parent orientation tomorrow... Thanks M, LLC!
