This release works around another unexpected breaking data change introduced by BART on the morning of March 5, 2020. If you'd like to help prevent this from happening again, please keep reading below to find out how you can make your voice heard. As of this morning, BART has has again broken their data, rendering Routesy inoperable for BART without this emergency update. The data that Routesy uses to match predictions against routes has been unexpectedly changed with no warning. I’ve contacted BART but they haven’t been replying to my emails, so I’m not confident that I will hear back from them. The thing that would help the most is for users of Routesy to contact BART at (510) 464-6000 and ask them when they will correct the issue where the route colors no longer match the departures, and to ask them to communicate with developers when significant changes are coming, so that we can keep our apps up and running. It’s impossible to maintain a public transit app where the data is being changed in unexplained breaking ways every few weeks with no warning.

Apologies for the large number of updates this week. This release works around another data error introduced by BART's schedule change on February 10, where predictions for trips between Millbrae and SFO were not showing. If the issues with BART's data this week have inconvenienced you, please call (510) 464-6000 to let BART know that you rely on their open data initiative, and that keeping data consistent and accessible is important. I will continue to find ways to address issues as they come up, but your voice matters. Please let them know that this matters to you.

Reviews of Routesy

  • My preferred local transit app

SF Muni recently updated their transit system, still a work in progress but finally syncing. I’ve been using Routesy since almost day one. It’s the best SF Muni bus app for those who know where they are, where they’re going and are familiar with the City’s bus lines. Set up the most used buses with bookmarks and see list at a glance. No fumbling with one’s phone in public (mind your surroundings). Well worth it. Many thanks Steven!
  • good but not great, well worth using

the next paragraph sums it up mostly true; at times the predictions are way off. i cant tell if its routesy’s fault or muni’s but thats why 4 stars and not 5.

this is the most used app on my phone, invaluable if youre trying to plan the most efficient route to your destination. one of the best features of Routesy is its simplicity; the interface isnt muddied with a bunch of superfluous bells and whistles. good job!
  • TFW the Dev responds to your tweet

I had an issue with this app and tweeted at it with my concern. Imagine my surprise when I got a response from the creator who looked into the matter. This app has been a game changer for me since I first downloaded years ago. Wonderful app and even more so today !
