5.9.3

September 26, 2023

Our teams have been hard at work to build some exciting new features. As always, if you do have feedback for us, we'd love to hear from you.  Now on to what's new! 1. Liked seeing the price range for your ride before booking? Now you will be seeing the exact price you will be paying for your ride! No surprises. 2. We've added a new feature that lets you delete your account with Flywheel. However, we have an internal bet going that our users would never use this feature. 3. Some more minor bug fixes and performance improvements We hope you enjoy the new experience!

Reviews of Flywheel

  • Trying to support cab drivers, but...

I would rather support cabbies than Uber, but I'm SF the app tries locating a driver in Hayes Valley (my pickup location base), but never finds one. Also, trying to type in the address typically doesn't help the cabbies because they still ask where I want to go. The whole point of taking a cab is to say "I'm going to this corner or this store". They know the city. But now I have to lookup the precise address to use the app (before you could use the app without having to type an address). It is really challenging to find a cabbie on the app now and I end up using Uber.
  • Pretty Ok

Used this app during a conference when I saw the cars driving around the city. It came faster than an Uber or Lyft who kept cancelling on me. Only thing I would be wary about is that If you have to take a toll road or bridge, that doesn’t seem to be built into the app for the drivers so my driver asked me for the toll $ and I don’t have cash so I didn’t know what to do. A little weird and would make me second guess using it if I need to take a toll.
  • Now, it doesn’t work at all

    1. You are REQUIRED to put in your destination, but CANNOT type in the address. Rather, you have to pinch/zoom & navigate to it on a map, so that you can’t even pay attention to your surroundings.
    2. Now, once you finally navigate to your destination, the app CRASHES, making this app literally unusable. Avoid.
    3. Once, while it was still working, I scheduled a cab to take me to the train for a vital trip. FlyWheel CANCELLED the scheduled pickup.
    4. FAR WORSE, they DID NOT TELL ME THEY CANCELLED the pickup, nearly destroying my trip. I’m now deleting the app.
