Viber service review

I have been using Viber for years and have never had a glitch or bad experience. Video calls are mostly clear and better still free. I get the stickers that I like and my friends and family are all Viber users so chat all the time and also swap photos. I recommend Viber .

Stop forcing Business Inbox on us.

I used to love Viber and was trying to disregard the annoying endless ads. However recently you took away our option to opt out business messages altogether and forced us having a business inbox which we can not delete. I don't want that thing between my personal conversations. Even if I block every business that contacts me the business inbox stays there. What is the point of that? Why won't you just respect your subscribers wishes and force your irritating features on us? This is getting just too much. It is plain disrespectful and very disappointing.
Upadate: Thank you for your response but this is not a change. As I mention above I have already used the feature to stop receiving messages from a particular business however Business Inbox can not be deleted. Kindly ask the developers to do something about it.

Hello! We’ve made some changes to how Business accounts are managed in Viber. If you want to stop receiving messages from a specific account, please follow these steps: Open Viber > Go to Chats > Open Business inbox > Select the chat > Click Stop receiving messages. You will no longer receive messages from this account.

Viber was deleted and installed again but everything was gone!

I have a huge problem now as my messages in groups, contacts and notes are reseted, I had really really important conversations, photos, files… That I cannot return back because of this stupid protocol. I am extremely frustrated therefore I am giving 1 star. If Viber could somehow back up my previous messages and the rest I would be extremely grateful, I have work things on there that I lost now and it’s all because I didn’t knew about the back up system. Can you blame me? I have messages I used to read on daily from my grandma that passed away, and I lost it all because of this stupid system. Please FIX THIS ISSUE it’s extremely frustrating and I have been trying to get back my info really hard, some of it isn’t even possible. I had wrote an entire list of things I need for a really important trip that my life basically depended on and I lost it. Might switch to WhatsApp now as you really really disappointed me.

#banned

It seems I’m having the same issue that several users have had throughout the years recently my employer, we have offices all over the world and in the states they use fiber to communicate internally with us here in the states in our satellite offices they recommended it so I purchased the one month trial alongside the monthly trial and I got an automated response similar to the one posted here from two years and three years ago, it seems that they banned my new number which is a US number with my phone carrier. I unfortunately have to change my phone number every three months due to my safety plan, but they should have been able to allow me to use Viber and un banned my number. It doesn’t make any sense especially after I purchased it all of a sudden it’s banned it doesn’t make sense. I got the generic response that another user said on this reviewand I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid they’re not gonna be able to my number and I wasted my time and money and I can’t even communicate with my job that means 3 to 4000 people are going to stop using it because I will have to tell them that they can’t communicate with me. I can’t endorse the product if it doesn’t work I hope they get it together.

Unjustified Account Ban and Unresponsive Support

I’ve been using Viber user since 2019, but my experience has taken a frustrating turn recently. Out of the blue, my account was banned without any clear reason. I tried reaching out to customer support for assistance, but all I received was a generic response stating that my account had been permanently banned, with no explanation or opportunity to appeal.

Recently, I moved abroad for university and needed to use Viber again, as important university information is shared exclusively through Viber groups. I created a new account with a new number, hoping to avoid the previous issue, but to my dismay, my new account was also banned after sending fewer than five messages! It seems that Viber’s system is flagging accounts unjustly, and the lack of meaningful customer support has left me stranded without access to crucial communication channels.

This has been a deeply frustrating experience, and I’m disappointed in Viber’s lack of transparency and support.

Dangerous (only giving five so you see)

I use the viber app to connect with my family through a group chat. So far, the apps been working great. No wifi issues, app lets you communicate with different phones, quality’s great. Theres just one key problem. The app often adds me to random group chats without my consent. The people in these group chats can see my name and pfp, which I am uncomfortable with sharing since I use my REAL name and a REAL photo of me! These groupchats at first just seemed to appear when i downloaded sticker packs, but the app just added me to a groupchat with 117 VERY REAL PEOPLE and even gave me the option to call them! This is not okay, and i have seriously debated leaving the app altogether. I don’t recommend getting this app if your uncomfortable with sharing some of your private info. I should also add, Viber gives you an option to leave these groups but that wont stop them from adding you to more in the future.

Account blocked for no reason

I’ve been having a problem sending messages but able to receive messages. So I deleted my account. Now I tried to re-install but it failed. I wrote an email but now they’re saying my number was blocked for spam which I don’t do. I only use Viber for connecting with my friends and family back home since I’m abroad. I’ve been using Viber for a very long time, for about more than 10 years now. And this is the first time I’ve encountered a problem and no one can seem to help but a bot.

Uodate Viber send me a pop up message that I’m one step away from activating so I tried the activating my account and this time it went though without any hassle. I got ny account back! Thank you!

hi there! update is very much bad ! some bugs :- there are some difficulties with deleting data ( pic) and text ..—- such after text deleted window with a group or just friends ready for chat doesn’t come back ! so you likely stuck with one and unable to proceed.., end point you can not being able to use viber unless rebooting device / not a app itself but PC or i have iphone 15.
when chat window is open return/ arrow button disappear until i do rebooting phone, only then arrow- step back appears again . and act of deletion doesn’t happen, unless rebooting phone … ( only then deleting text is possible one at the time, and you have to manually reboot again…. so it’s kind of too much action for simple things to delete text or picture

Wordle

I wake up each morning and do Wordle. Sometimes I can complete the word then or I go away and come back and complete. My wife, our daughters and many friends do and enjoy the challenge of doing Wordle. Thank you for letting people from all countries being able to wake up and do Wordle.
