Good start but needs work

This app is great for being able to access and read posted readings for my classes. Otherwise, it's kind of a miss.

1. No staff/faculty support? Would be super helpful if I could do at least some stuff like seeing student grades, class average, etc.
2. Why is there no syllabus tab access?
3. Great that it links to the libraries but then the library page isn't completely mobile friendly (I know that has nothing to do with this app but it's still worth mentioning.. Would be nice if resources were consistent)
4. Slow, slow, slow
5. Sometimes app gets confused about whether I'm logged in or not, and won't let me access my account but also won't log me out.

Missed the mark

Although the mobile app has some functionality, it lacks the options available for faculty to use it for the things they might need. There is no way to create announcements for students on Oncourse. There doesn't seem to be any difference between being logged in as a faculty member and the functions available to students. Overall, it is a very informative app, but it misses the mark on function and use. Frankly, I like the faculty functions of the blackboard app much better.

Needs to be optimized for iPhone 5 and reply to class messages

The title basically says it all. I cant reply to the messages inside my classes, just view them? Why?! And it needs to be optimized for iPhone 5. Do these things and you'll get 5 stars from me.

Great app

It's a very useful app and has basically everything you want but it's way to slow! When you click into one of the links it takes forever to load! Needs to be a lot fast for a 5 star

Slow

When this app works, I find it a very useful and helpful app. However, I find that even if I have perfect service or am connected to a good wifi, the app is slow to open, if it even opens at all, and usually when the app opens it must go through necessary updates that change nothing and only slow me down. This is seriously inconvenient when I need to quickly look up any kind of information.

Some fixes

I agree with what most people are saying, somewhat. Yes it shouldn't be exactly like the mobile browser version, but it's not a terrible app. There are some minor things that need fixing, and soon. One of which is how to change the location for the dining halls under dining services. I can't get it to switch off of wright and it's really annoying.

Frustrating. Then fixed!

Update: This app works a lot better and it seems like they fixed what people have been complaining about, thank you!

It seems there is more bugs and it's less seamless to run. When you click on the email icon you can't go back to the main screen once there by hitting the home screen button. It ALWAYS says network error, so then you're left with a blank white screen and having to power down and restart your device.

This app still is valuable, and a great tool just needs the bugs fixed.

Incomplete and poorly designed

I was very excited about the prospect of IU having a dedicated app, but this is a very poorly designed program that is not maintained. The news and athletic sections are so outdated that they are completely useless. I agree with others that a natively designed app would be much preferred over a web based app. That said, a web based app could still work with better menu and navigation design than what is offered here. Indiana University is a leading research institution and is deserving of better representation than this app.

Great

So what if it works like a website? It's simple, the services are there, and they work.

needs to be redesigned

... Its fantastic that IU has an app.... ....but this NEEDS MAJOR INNOVATIVE WORK put into it!! Find it annoying and Pointless to use because it performs just like a web browser page.... want to get back to the main menu... gotta keep hitting the back button... NOT EASY TO NAVIGATE because its so linear... ...also a pain to have to enter ones login info each time you want to access email or oncourse information. Can we get a save username/password option? Somebody needs to get serious about studying the art of making a good app... this is not an interactive webpage... ...there are some convenient features though, such as computer lab availability, news, bus schedule, events, etc...
