  • App changed my Life

Started using this app 4 years ago. When I look back I have to say this is the best app I have ever used. Really encouraging with coaches and trophies. The best part is the app is free 🙏🏿👊🏿🐐

  • Big fan of Coach Bennett

Long term user of the app, unlikely to ever switch because it’s got all my run history, PBs etc. Over the years the app has occasionally been buggy but (touch wood - I’ve got a race coming up, so don’t crash on me now!) it’s recently been okay.

Over the years I’ve had periods of not using the guided run feature and then periods of pretty much exclusively using the guided run feature, particularly if I’m following say the 10k plan or the Half Marathon plan, and I just wanted to say how brilliant Coach Bennett is, not just on running technique and form but on the mental side of running too, and as he sometimes says “This is about the run … and not just about the run”, with positive mental health messages that you can take into the rest of your life too. My life has been pretty stressful recently and having Coach Bennett’s guidance in my ear (and dictionary definitions) has really made a difference for me, so thank you.

  • Great app, but a variety of bugs

A few pros: I really like the simplicity of this app and the watch complications, showing the distance you’ve run so far for the month, also available as a widget on the iPhone. I also like how you can add friends to compete with them, join challenges or set your own.

A few cons: previously you could share running stats and a photo / picture on your profile for others to see, with the option of tagging - this has recently disappeared. Windd CD e the last update it seems to be a lot better, but there’s be several releases where you need to keep logging back in to the app, this is a major issue if you run without your phone, as the distance usually does not get logged - because you also needed to re sync your watch. The latest bug I currently have is that the monthly / weekly miles shown in the challenges I join do not match the monthly / weekly miles shown in the activity section. This happened last month as well. Hope this get sorted as it’s adding more miles than I have done. Really annoying.

  • Question

I love this app and use it religiously—though I have a question for anybody who might know the answer:
Is there a way to download guided runs to Apple Watch without the download being interrupted? It seems that I have to wait until it goes out of the download screen, tap it to go back in, resume download; multiple times for every download. It’s a little annoying and I’d love to know if there’s something I’m doing wrong or if there’s some room for improvement somewhere so that the app doesn’t go back to the list automatically after 3-5 seconds until it’s eventually complete. Any help would be appreciated.
Otherwise, the app is perfect and I love it!

  • 3 years straight!

I found the NRC app 3 years ago and I love it. It tracks everything I want to measure in a run, shows me year on year progress down to months and weeks. I’m fitted than I ever and I love that feeling of reviewing my stats and being proud that I’m regularly getting out there. It’s so easy to use. Highly recommended.

  • No longer usable

Have used NRC for more than 10 years and it has lost so much functionality that it is no longer usable. I bought an Apple Watch when they were first advertised as a Nike collaboration but there are so many bugs it drives me insane. Completed runs disappear or don’t link to training plans, sound cuts in and out, I’ve even had runs where the voice over has kept going when I’ve paused it so the rest of the run is completely out of sync. I love the guided runs and trainers but there are just too many bugs to make it worth it.

  • Just Do It!!!

Absolutely love this app. I can’t say enough positive things about it! It does all your usual tracking & is good at reporting the info back, as well as collating it all & giving you monthly summaries & stats etc. The Guided Runs….. oh man! This is what this app is truly all about!! I’d never have become a runner without these! There are loads to work through. They’re entertaining, inspiring, motivational, insightful, educational & fun, & they truly do guide you through each run!! They can also be downloaded to my Apple Watch so that I can actually leave my phone at home, which is so much nicer! There is only one thing that NRC hasn’t got that I’d love…. Within the menu I’d like to pull up a selection of runs that I’ve downloaded to my watch already, ‘my downloaded runs’!?! Potentially a future update that I’d love to see! Thank you very very very much NRC. You’ve made a new runner a regular participant!

Wrote the above review almost two years ago. I’ve just recently upgraded my phone from an iPhone SE 2nd gen, to an iPhone 15 Pro. The data is recorded on my iWatch, it even seems to transfer to health, but I’ve tried everything I can think of to sync to the app & have been unable to solve the problem??? Any ideas???

  • Please fix this app

This could be a really good app, I like the tracking, getting data, assigning a pair of shoes to your run, it’s really cool. The training/plans and guided runs are great. Helped me run my first half marathon.

I’ve recently started using the app again after a 1 year hiatus and for some reason the music integration has become bugged, it will often lower the music volume to give you your distance callout or trainer monologue but the music won’t return to normal volume, it’s enough to really throw me off the rhythm, and for someone like me that’s looking for any excuse to stop running it’s really annoying.
