  • My Favorite Chordpro Compatible App

I bought and tried several ChordPro-compatible apps for managing my lead sheets and I like SongBook the best by quite a wide margin. You can figure out how to use it in about 10 minutes without reading the manual. Syncing with Dropbox works perfectly (syncing is a really challenging thing to get right). It also has the three features I need most: the ability to transpose, the ability to indicate if you are using a capo, and compatibility with a foot pedal for scrolling (it works with AirTurn and PageFlip pedals with zero setup).
OnSong is probably the leader in this category but I found it to be too difficult to use. It has a lot of features but if you need 36 videos to explain how to use your app (which OnSong has) that's just too much work for me. I also had problems with OnSong's basic functionality being buggy in places. The user manual disappeared on me, and I found out on their website this is a known issue. And songs often mysteriously had one key written in the metadata but displayed another even though transposing and capo were turned off. So in conclusion, I like SongBook's ease of use and lack of bugginess. And it does just about everything I need it to do. My one request would be that it store and display PDF sheet music...for now I just use another app for that.

  • Just what I've been looking for

I've been looking for something like this to ditch my binders full of songs (sorry Mitt, just songs) in this format for a while. Didn't need endless clever features, sure as hell wasn't about to pay a subscription to store my songs, just format, store and organise. This does that really well. Little but exe compared to some, but I'll sometimes pay more for less features, just do the simple job well. The editing can be a little cumbersome on the iPad but that's something I'll get used to. If you just want your songs nicely organised, I recommend it.

  • Great!

Great for organizing playlists and like the way you can search and download chordie songs straight into the iPad
  • Mr

It is awesome. Just what I wanted. And very easy to use.
  • Awesome app. Really love it!

What an awesome improvement on the PC version. Could still use some browser functionality when importing songs. Example is when you import a song from chordie it makes you commence the process of searching for the site again then artist, song, etc. Not all of us around the globe enjoy fast Internet speed. The other thing is an NSErrorRule bla bla (999) keeps rearing it's ugly head. Anyway in terms of having all my songs in one location, transposable, linked to the track and columned on to one page.... Songbook ROCKS!!!!

  • Best purchase so far

Awesome app that I'm using all the time. Only con is if it syncs to Dropbox then it doesn't save playlists very well. I've assigned playlists and then come back to find them all missing...
  • One of two best songbook apps

The two best songbook apps I have found for the ipad (and I have tried many) are Songbook Chordpro (SC) and OnSong. They both seem to have developers who are really working hard to improve their app and who have good support websites. They both have good options for making set lists and changing fonts and colors and all that other stuff. They both can scroll the screen. OnSong allows one to use a footpedal to advance the screen - I am not sure about SC. What I really like about SC is the way it fixes the text to the appropriate size on your screen when you zoom in or out. On OnSong, if you zoom in, some of your music can be off of the screen - SC automatically readjusts the screen so nothing ever is off the left or right side of the screen. OnSOng haas a better search tool for finding songs and it has the ability to store PDf's and word files - a huge advantage. At this point, I think Onsong is the best of the songbook apps - but I will keep using both programs and will keep a close eye on how they both improve.

  • Songbook

An excellent application if you play the guitar. The additional feature for changing the chords is great. This application is a must for music lovers. Take it anywhere, and you'll have all your songs ready to be played anytime, and in the night without any light the backlight screen is great. I only wish if the guitar chords could have been changed to play the piano.

Great edit function, and so easy to add songs......excellent anyway you look at it.

  • Great for ukulele song sheets

I am just learning the ukulele and I wanted something that I could transfer all my printed song sheets to, so that I had them all in one convenient place. This app was so easy to use and was a breeze to enter a song in from scratch. I can see the chords as I play and see the whole song on one screen if I want. Great app guys - full marks for quality.
