  • Great synth for learning

I am relatively new at this and was having difficulty finding my way until I tried this app and the Mac OS standalone version. Ideal for learning my way around synth-world. Easy to isolate various components to see how each functions. Obviously, I am only scratching the surface of this synth and look forward to a long and interesting experience with it.

Also, Rolf and company are very helpful and responsive.

  • Hands down the best iPad synth

Bought both the standalone and the iPad version. Have tried a LOT of other synths but always come back to NLog. When working with the AU I find myself with at least 2 or 3 instances in my compositions. A MUST for anyone creating music. Only noise free background synth that doesn't glitch.
  • Works great with USB EWI!

Amazing program! I can use my USB EWI with a powered USB port and the iPad camera connection kit. With an endless supply of synth sounds and super low latency, I was able to ditch the required computer for my USB EWI! This app even allows you to customize the midi controller so that the app responds to breath velocity. After spending over a $100 on synth apps, I finally found the one app that fully supports the EWI!
  • Great app

Application of highly specialized organ, full-featured, I like very much!
  • Great very Flexible synth

I love this synth it is very flexible being both subtractive VA + Wavetable based . So no one trick pony .
It sounds as good as any VA you can go buy in hardware form ...for much , much more .
It works with midi and VMidi and Network Midi and background audio ....in short the Dev keeps up with iOS innovations and seams to like plying well with others .
He is also a nice guy and prompt with tech support too as I have found out .
Looking forward to what's ever next !
  • Music maker

I bought the ims20 at 50% off... And was disapointed. This one at normal price is so much better. Great presets. Poly.... Has it all.
  • Excellent Synth

I heard Rolf (the developer of this app) on Ep 1 of Touch Sound podcast and was impressed enough to purchase NLogSynth Pro & NLogPoly. I think it sounds amazing especially for warm vintage-style patches. Being able to program and tweak on the iPad, share patches with the desktop version, and sequence using the AU plug-in is brilliant. Add AirPlay output and I'll find a way to add a sixth star!
  • Not great. Disappointed.

I have almost every iOS synth out there. This one disappoints. The presets are waaay to effected. Arps are kind of lame. No alternate knob controls ( linear vs rotary). Interface is unnecessarily cluttered. Midi is clunky. Presets are cryptically named. Horizon synth is cheaper and better sounding with a very clean interface. iMS-20 is better value and better sounding. Too expensive for an amateur synth like this.
  • Powerful, but with some untapped potential

I've been using NLog Pro for almost a year now, and with each update it's gotten better and better. It takes a bit more work to get a really "alive" sound out of it than iMS-20, but when you do get that sound, it's polyphonic—something iMS-20 unfortunately can't do.

Currently, I've done a bit of tweaking with all four oscillators to produce a fairly realistic small pipe organ, with each oscillator being a stop on the organ. What I'd love to see is more oscillators to produce an even bigger, bolder sound... I'm talking "Deep Note" big!
