Don't like the new planner format

I love peppperplate and have been using it for a year now. I was so pleased to see the update as it has been a long time coming. Whilst most of the updates are welcome I really do t like the planner now as you can it view a day at a time. Please can future updates change the planner back. Otherwise I still love this app!

Best App ever

Absolutely love this app! I'm a chef and it makes sharing recipes and menu ideas with other chefs and friends so easy. Anytime someone asks is they can have the recipe I can email it straight from the app without rewriting or copy and pasting.
This app is like carrying all my cook books with me, in my IPad.
I also love being able to change the yield of the recipes without having to do all the calculations.
I love that its free.

Initially loved it, now I'm irritated

I have to admit that I have use(d) this app a lot. It is so nice to have all of your recipes in one place and have them synced between computer, phone, tablet. It's also visually appealing as opposed to a lot of the other hokie-looking apps. It is easy to add new recipes from the website, not so much from the app. I used the shopping list feature all of the time, but the meal planning feature has a lot of bugs, and there are a few other random bugs as well.

I gave pepper plate 2 stars on my revised rating because the website and my phone/tablet will no longer sync. This is after trying to solve the problem on my own with app and hardware updates, rebooting, etc. I can't use the app if it doesn't sync, plus the app is quite user unfriendly as opposed to the website. I am also tired of all of the bugs that have yet to be fixed. I would gladly pay up to $10 for this app if it would actually do what it is supposed to do. It is an amazing idea and has the potential to be just that. Please fix the bugs!!!!

Website good but app needs improvement

Installed to make meal planning easier but have found app rather lacking. Easy to put meals into planner but unlike online site they have to be put in as a recipe first (online you can just type something in) and you have to click on each individual day to view (online you can see whole week at once). Not used shopping list function yet but online have found some items didn't make it to list at all. Shall probably stick to using website for now.

New favourite!

Love this app, truly makes meal planning a great deal easier and much more fun. Works very well in combination with the website version, which has a couple of features I haven't found on the app, such as selecting only specific items from an ingredient list to shift onto the shopping list. Adding the bookmarklet to my browser makes it easy to import recipes from a wide range of websites and blogs. Other things are better on the iPad, like categorising recipes. Only complaint is synching does not always work very well, so I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times to get around this. Overall really great and helpful product! Highly recommended.

Not perfect, but pretty darn good

As someone that collects a lot of recipes from various places (magazines and papers, websites, etc.) it has been so good to have an app/website to organise all of them and make sure that I don't lose them ever again. The fact that there remain a lot of websites that this app does not support wasn't ever a big issue, as I've found it quite easy to just copy and paste from unsupported sites with minimal fuss. Sure, it requires tapping a few more buttons, but big deal!! Finally an app where I can see all my favourite canapΓ© recipes and plan a menu!

Excellent

Just what I needed, can easily copy online recipes into the app, easily add my own and create a meal planner and shopping list from them. Perfect. Loses a star for not being completely Brit friendly! Can we have British weights and measures please to make it a five star app? Edit: would also be useful to have a 'clean up list' option, once you add a recipe, then tick off the stuff you already have, would be nice to be able to get it off the list. And I can't find an option to delete a recipe? If its there, that's fine, but it's not at all obvious... Will check the faqs on the website, but definitely needs to be more of a 'manage recipes/ lists' button somewhere... FURTHER EDIT: can I create a shopping list from the planner? Can't see an option on the planner page... If not, will probably have to find a different meal planning app.

Thank goodness

This is one of the best recipe, meal planner and shopping list app I've seen. It's easy to use, and can sync it with the phone, so you always have it on you. Great support as well. Thank you.

Absolutely awesome!

I absolutely love this app and have since convinced more than 6 people to get it. Easy to add recipes even if you need to do it manually. Can then share it, so others can add it to theirs easily. Easy to change the number of serves for a recipes and can add the ingredients based on the different servings to your shopping list.

I use this quite often and can be cooking using my iPad at one stage then ticking off my shopping list on my iPhone at another. Supported and synced across multiple platforms and the new bookmark widget for adding recipes from websites is also extremely handy. The style is quite nice as well.

There may be a few small bugs, but definitely no show stoppers. Definitely worth getting!

GET IT!!!

This app is very very simple to use!
Writing menus for my work is heaps easier as everyone in the kitchen can access the recipes from their phones, pc, iPads the lot so when I'm away I can still get clear and precise recipes to my kitchen staff. The feature of creating a "shopping list" makes things even more easier and the ability to change the yield of each recipe.
Perfect app for industry chefs/cooks and even better for the home cook!
