  • Loving This

Love this app and enjoying the challenge of a new language. Some audio clips are a little hard to hear but easy to understand with headphones. Lots to complete and will be purchasing the extra decks. Great job.
  • Next Generation Flashcards

I think the greatest thing about the app is the system of learning. I have come to solely use this app for flashcards. There are a few problems I must address for the app.

    - Limitations in making flashcards on the app
    - Very few available subjects to study. Some are good (but expensive).
    - No sharing of cards from other users, this means that you either pay for it or make them yourself.

Overall, a great app for the already made flashcards.

  • I quiz myself everyday!

The feeling of getting to blue with Chinese is so nice! I took it as a child, but now I can really push myself to learn it!
  • Good App

I've been living in China for about four months and I've been taking Mandarin classes twice a week in the evening after work. It's a very difficult language to learn and I found this app very helpful for review. I can check it out when riding the bus, metro, or whenever I have free time. It's definitely worth paying the full price to get all the cards. I plan to be in China for several years and I *will* learn this language. :-)

  • Well made, extremely easy to use and helpful!

Been using this app for a few days now. It's definitely Alpha over other language apps out there at the moment.
  • Really??

Loved how China brain scape works, but my tutor has specific words I need to be learning, so I would search/add his words. To my surprise, words like China and call, I can't find. There were more.

    Really? Come on.

Maybe the words are in there but it's no intuitive. I even paid for the full blown version figuring I had to pay to unlock extra words. I feel like a big sucker.

  • Could be better

An otherwise we'll thought out app is badly let down by some poor sound recording. It's full of clicks, bumps, pops and high background noise. If this could be rectified I'd probably give it five stars.
  • Way better than Rosetta Stone at a way fairer price

Sprung for Rosetta Stone and got nowhere but in terms of Mandarin, just a way lighter wallet. Brainscape works and is much easier to use with out a teacher or other support. It's significantly helping the rate at which I pick up vocabulary. To be fair Rosetta Stone was useful when I was paired with an instructor and was good as a supplement to my teacher. Brainscape is cool because we use the website and create custom cards for the week, just haven't figured out how to integrate them with my iPad yet....

  • Would be great to see the Traditional and Simplified Characters side by side

I am trying to learn both the Traditional and Simplified Chinese for when I visit Taiwan or China. It would be great if you guys could put both the simplified and traditional characters side by side so that I can see what both looks like.
  • Recommended

I've always considered myself as being really bad at languages, but I thought I'd give them one last chance. This app has changed my impression of learning a new language.

I've gone from speaking no Mandarin to being competent at understanding basic word sets and greeting.

Very convenient way of learning too, as any time you have a moment spare, you can just play around with the app and improve further.

    Again, highly recommended!
