Wrong direction by seznam

It’s a good app but the upsell to premium subscription button embedded into the map view tells us which direction they’re taking it in. They’ve obviously decided that fewer users who will stump up a fairly hefty annual subscription is the way they want to go. Good luck with that.

Response from developer

Hi, Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you like the app. We understand that the premium option might not be for everyone, but many core features, like navigation and route planning, remain free. The Premium subscription allows us to continue improving the app and keep it running smoothly. We hope you’ll keep enjoying the free features and exploring with Mapy.cz! Best regards, The Mapy.cz Team

Excellent map alternative, but lacks location data

Excellent map alternative, but lacks location data such as shops, points of interest, transit details e.g No STIB or SNCB data for Belgium! And users cannot add the missing data. Because of this it cannot replace Google, yet.

Response from developer

Hi, thank you for your feedback! We're glad you like Mapy.cz. Regarding missing data, you can contribute directly to OpenStreetMap (OSM), which is the source of much of our map data. If you'd prefer, you can also report missing locations or details directly to us via the app (Settings -> Issues and feedback), and we’ll work on adding them. We’re constantly striving to improve and hope Mapy.cz will meet your expectations even better in the future. Best regards, The Mapy.cz Team

Awful voice

The level of detail in Mapy is extraordinary both inside Czechia and around the world. I was surprised how much better it was than Google Maps when in the UK. I find myself reaching for Mapy as my main mapping solution. However, that awful robotic voice makes me cringe all the time - surely in the modern world we can have voice options that are less grating - I hate it. Also, given it’s a Czech app it’s always a source of frustration how badly Czech words are mispronounced! I’m sure fixing those things would make a significant to the app.

Offline limits are coming

Disappointing to read that offline downloads are going to be greatly restricted in the next version. The OpenStreetMap data is of course crowdsourced and open licensed. It shouldn’t require an in-app purchase to download. I’ve heard good things about Organic Maps which uses the same free data.

Caminos Compostela

Walking outside of the box. Mapy will propose so many possibilities

Mapy.cz for us

We do a lot of cycle touring and find Mapy.cz is fantastic for route finding, designing loops and navigating when we are on the road. We found in Taiwan that the walking option was best for cycle touring, but otherwise, in all the other countries, the cycling option worked well. We love the small roads it suggests for us.
Thank you, Mapy.cz folks!

There seems to be a problem

The map directions and navigation screen show roundabouts where there are only T-junctions. For example yesterday the navigation said and showed a roundabout with 11 exits (!) when in fact I arrived at a T junction with a left or right choice and I had to turn a simple right. This was on my iPhone/ CarPlay. Is this a problem with the iPhone update?

Possibly the best map ever

I am using the app in Europe and Asia it has been working perfectly for a year.
This is the best app I have ever used for my travel and planning.

Easy to use

the maps are very easy and attractive to use and have a global coverage

Great App but…

I love mapy as it shows more info compared to Organic Maps but two things that are critically missing from the app are:
1. Ability to easily to select start/end/stops and make a route which is critical for hiking/biking in order to quick check distances.
2. Contour lines in the Province of British Colombia! (It’s weirdly only in BC, the rest of canada, us and europe have them)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ADD THEM! It would make the app so much more useful for me and a lot of people‼️‼️
THANK YOU
