  • BE QUIET

I am extremely autistic, I have such high anxiety, it is already insane how much Apple Maps talks to you. I drove a mile and on the same block I got four instructions for it. At the next light turn right. One. Go past this light then at the next one make a right. Two. About halfway down the block it says at street name turn right. Then I approach the street and it says get in the right lane and make a right. FOUR. INSANE. That is about 100 feet of driving and then instruction. I dealt with all that because I kind of get it. Today you’ve added this fun little feature where every single time I open Maps you scream to me that if there’s an issue to report it on Siri. I cannot handle the constant stimulation. I CANNOT. I drive for a living. I use Maps about 30 times a day. I hate Google maps. It is so confusing but I don’t care. I literally don’t care. I would rather do anything. Literally than use Apple Maps and support Apple Maps. On top of the fact that you’re wrong, so often. I truly and sincerely from the bottom of my heart know you guys have ruined Apple Maps. A few years ago I loved Apple Maps and used to boast to everyone when they would claim Google was the way to go. I would always say no not for me. But yeah, you have lost me. I literally would rather walk somewhere I don’t know with no direction blindfolded on a bed of knives then use Apple Maps for help.

  • Recently the Routes Maps Suggests would take 2x the amount of time compared to other apps

I used to exclusively use Apple Maps up until recently. In the past couple months when it gives me a possible route home and I know for a fact it would take about 40 minutes, the route suggests would take about an hour and 29 minutes. Whenever Apple suggests a route with an outrageous amount of time I switch to Google Maps and it tells me the actual amount of time it would take, which is usually half the time that Apple Maps suggests. Not sure what Apple did to screw this up so badly in the past couple months but unfortunately they’ve lost me as a user. If you fix the most basic function of your app I might consider coming back 🤭

EDIT: I came back and used it for a couple of months. But then I was heading to work and it sent me on a route that added 30 minutes to my drive and I was late for work. You never can tell if it knows something you don’t, like a potential traffic jam ahead. All you can do is put your trust in the app or cross reference with other map apps. I cross referenced with Google maps and found Apple maps is the problem. Fix your garbage app!

  • why do you hate me apple

i am not sure what i have done to offend the apple gods but maps WILL NOT LET ME LOOK UP ANYTHING. i will have full bars, from wifi and/or data, and yet when i attempt to type in a location, unless it is somewhere i have been before(and sometimes even then) nothing will come up until i hit search. and then once i hit search i get some sort of adjacent result. example: my first attempt. i type “boston ramen”. nothing as i type. i hit search. my one and only result is “bosso ramen tavern”. i am sure bosso ramen tavern is a lovely establishment, but i am also sure that it is not the only ramen spot in boston. my second attempt. i accidentally type “tamen boston”. nothing. search. “boston public garden”. attempt three. there is no attempt three. i paid the better part of a grand for this stupid phone and i have plenty of space on it and plenty of battery and the app doesn’t need updating and if the phone itself being a couple years old and a few updates behind is enough for this to happen every other time i try to find a restaurant, then all i have to say is this. a curse upon you. a curse upon you and a curse upon your creators and a curse upon your benefactors. a curse upon your profits and a curse upon your stocks and a curse upon whoever is currently in charge of this godforsaken app in particular. i wish you nothing but the worst.
