Great app
This is a great baby name app. There are tons of names listed including their origins and meanings. It's also easy to sort by a variety of filters. It's a lot of fun if you want a lot of names to choose from. You can't also rate the names you like on a scale of 1 - 5 which is really helpful.
I wish that I could select what gender I want to use the unisex names for. That was when I look at a list of boys or girls names I like, there aren't a bunch of unisex names in the list I don't want. Also, some of the phonetic spellings of names are either wrong or don't exist. This is very frustrating when reading names you are unfamiliar with.Show lessHeatherJ0520
Simplest name app
Just what I was looking for!
Likes: Clean and simple with a lot of names. Can view by popularity, origin, or through search engine. Names include meanings and which origin those meanings are from. Also can create favorites list and rate names. Favorites list has "Sort" function and "My Names" list for custom names. Also has a "History" menu of recent names youve looked at. Has a daily notification option to give you a random name suggestion at a specified time of day.
Dislikes: No option to view complete list of names A-Z. Sometimes crashes when scrolling thru long search list of names.
Suggestions: All menus should have a sort/filter function. "Genie", randomized names, and name suggestion should be based on favorited names so they are more likely to be names you will like.

Could be better
This is nicely designed, but it's not very user friendly. And you can only look at lists of popular names for the previous years, you can't browse a list of alphabetical names or names containing certain syllables or starting with a certain letter.
And to all the people complaining about notifications...really? There is a nice little "off" button provided in the app, not to mention you can turn off notifications in your phone settings. No need to rage over it...Show lessAynessa
Annoying!!!
My husband has the app and likes it so I got it too. Except on mine a pop up for candy crush keeps coming up every five seconds making it unusable. Really disappointedSlyolddog
Annoying flashing message!
The moment I opened up app there was a flashing envelope that said i had a message pending. I couldn't ignore it because the flashing is VERY annoying. So I clicked on it to clear the message, but it takes you to a mandatory questionnaire to win an iPad. I don't believe a word of it and couldn't progress back out of the message. Great variation and layout
I love the wide variation of origins available to choose from on this app, it seems to branch into more cultures than many that I've viewed so far.
I also like the search function for name meanings, I can type in my own which is another thing I haven't found on most naming apps I've used.
After reading other reviews, I can say that haven't had any of the functionality issues mentioned by others so overall I think this app is pretty great myself.Show lessRuunicorn
Yeah, it's alright.
Would be cool to have some 2012 info. Also would be nice if the world map included all countries... New Zealand seems to have fallen off.Barnsaby

Lots of names to look at, has origin and everything. The app just went really slow for me and kept closing down. But overall a good app for baby names :)Simplytodz

Very good but a quite annoying problem
This app is brilliant it does exactly what it says! But, I would like to add my own name to this application meaning I need to buy the upgrade! I have the paid version on my old iPhone 3gs and now I have the iPhone 4s normally(because I'm using the same apple ID) it wouldn't cost me to buy the paid version on this phone as I purchased it on my old phone but it is asking me to pay for this application again.
