Grammatically Challenged

I subscribe because I believe in supporting local news; but, I am astounded by the number of grammatical and punctuation errors in this publication. As a society, we’ve really taken a step backwards in the correct usage of our own language, part of a larger entitlement problem. Too hard! Why bother! I expect a serious news outlet to require someone to look for and correct errors that would have gotten you a failing grade in the days before everyone got an “A” just for showing up. Signed, “OK, Boomer”:)

The atlanta journal has become

A voice to propagate left leaning liberal values. One could make the assumption that the metro atlanta area is 33% left, 33% moderate and 33% right and not be far off, I happen to be moderate and yet very little, if any that the paper espouses resonates with me. For the record I cannot stand Trump but an example is Fani Willis the paper has supported her and writes all kinds of positive things about her yet it is quite clear she lied on the stand, she has overseen the disaster of the gang prosecution etc. your supporting someone to be the DA that lied in the stand, that’s scary by itself

The AJC does its job

Thank goodness we had the AJC to keep us informed about the most recent scam perpetrated by the conspiracy between the Public Service Commission and Georgia Power to transfer the hard earned dollars from those of us who pay our outrageously and unnecessarily high electric bills into the pockets of GA Power owners, board members, and stock holders.

New App Revitalizes Local Journalism

I used to love the idea of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC); however, reading it was a pain with a clunky interface that made it hard to find news. Now, with the new app and new news products, I feel like the AJC is redefining local journalism in Georgia. The app has a smooth interface that allows you to control details on the reader’s experience: setting the screen to dark, finding content for specific topics, and customizing notifications. I have a lot of hope for the AJC in informing the citizens of Georgia.

pop up ads are awful

Something just started happening in this app last week. When I am in the middle of doing a crossword puzzle, a google pop-up ad comes up and forces me to give personal info and take a survey to win a “prize”. I don’t want the stupid prize and I don’t want to keep giving my email id , sex, etc. But there’s no way to even finish it and get past it except to get out of the app. Then, when I come back into the app, my crossword puzzle progress has not been saved. I am considering canceling my ajc subscription if I can no longer use the puzzle portion of it.

Thank you for reaching out. I am the product manager and would like to better understand what is going on so that we can resolve the issue. Could you please let me know which puzzle you are playing when you are seeing the pop-up ad. Puzzles like the LA Times crossword and Jumble are handled differently then our other puzzles and games. You can email me direct at matt.sabath@ajc.com. Thank you, Matt Sabath

Much Improved

The new UI is very nice and much better than the WSB-TV app. So far, not every article opens up in a web page but actually inside the app now. Scrolling is smooth and no ads sitting at the bottom of the screen. The only thing that’s missing is dark mode.

Not letting me sign in

I’m a subscriber so I can keep up to date with local news. Up until recently I haven’t had any issues, but now I have a banner at the bottom telling me I have only so many “free articles” until a certain date, and when I try to sign in it says it couldn’t open the page because the server can’t be found. Signing in on safari doesn’t transfer over to the app, and neither does deleting and reinstalling the app. I never signed out on the app either, and the most recent update was 5 months ago, so I’m not sure why I would’ve been signed out.

Tells me what I need to know

I get the news immediately on my watch, and if I want more information, I read it on my phone. It keeps me up to date wherever I am. Great service for anyone who wants to stay informed.

AJC

Excellent timely coverage of world and national news worth knowing about. I read it every day and look forward to it each morning.

Like knowing what’s happening locally

I like the morning weather reports and the breaking news. Also what’s happening locally. It is a good app.
