  • does one thing very well

Nice and simple. Open it, hit record, talk, then tap done when you're done.

Your recording is saved in your Dropbox account with a name that reflects the date and time you made it.
  • Love this app. Apple Watch soon?

Use this app all the time. Would be dope if you could use an Apple Watch complication to summon the app and instantly record either on the phone or on the watch. I have another app on the watch that does it but you have to click the complication, then the record button on the screen it opens. Would be great if this did it instantly. Would use it even more than I do now.

  • By far the easiest and best app for recording!

The most difficult part about this app was teaching our caveman to tap the record button. Seriously, records are that easy. One tap to record, and when set to upload automatically the tap to stop recording triggers the upload or stores it until an Internet connection is present. Audio quality is excellent, especially when used with external mics, so we use it for radio broadcasts when on the road.

  • It just works.

Simple and reliable. I use it to email voice memos. Record and go to Dropbox to get the public link for it. I just email the recording link. I wish it could provision the public link itself and I would not need to launch the Dropbox UI. Still this is the best app out there helping record voice MP3 files.

  • Amazing App

Really Apple-like: it does what it's supposed to do, and does it well. This app is easy to use, has a a clean appearance, and has the features I need without bells and whistles. It's the easiest way by far to vocally jot down a note. And a great plus is that you have the recordings on you computer Dropbox when you need it.

I set mine to record on launch, and stop recording when I leave the app. That means I basically don't even have to interact with the app. It's just there for me. The coolest thing is that I can tell Siri to launch this app and then once its launched it starts recoding automatically. Even cooler is that when my iPhone is docked, I just say hey Siri, then "launch DropVox" and then I just start talking and it records what I say.

  • Simple = Good

The problem with most voice memo/recording apps is remembering to export your files, finding them, and figuring out what is what.
This app has one button. Record / Stop.
Your file is ready--labeled date and time--resting comfortably and safely in your dropbox.
I've never lost data, and never waited more than a couple seconds to launch.

  • simple, effective, easy to use and very useful!

This app does one thing and it does it VERY well. It quickly became my favorite and most used audio recording app.

Open the app. Press the big red button to start recording. Press it again to stop, and the audio is automatically uploaded to your DropBox folder of choice. The MP3 audio files are automatically named by date and time, so you don't have to bother with naming right in the moment. It's easy to find the files again later and rename them as desired.

I use this app mostly just to take quick audio notes that later get used in my writing.

I use it mostly in my iPhone and occasionally on my iPad.

Seriously, this is one of the most useful apps I've found because I'm always getting ideas on the go and this is the most effective way to capture those thoughts and not have to worry about how to access them later. Once they're in DropBox, I can listen to them on any of my devices, take notes, and not have to jump through any hoops to do so.

  • Very well designed app

These guys definitely nailed the main function of such an app — get to recording audio as quickly as possible, without tinkering, naming files etc. Option to start recording on app launch is the best illustration of that effort.

The only flaw is that it even with “Record in higher quality” setting is enabled, you’re getting 76kbps mp3, which is not a great quality recording. And it’s understandable — they were trying to achieve quick upload times.

For those of us, who are willing to compromise upload time, it would be nice to have an option to choose 160 or at least 128kbps quality.

  • Hands down BEST app I've ever used.

Finding the answer to DropBox voice memo inadequacies: Priceless!
I've been using DropVox for over a year and I couldn't be more happy. I use it to record and upload business meetings as well as my personal recordings. It's simple, it's functional and most importantly, it just stinkin' works! With one click you can record and upload voice memos automatically to your DropBox account without fail, every time, no hassle, no headache. Haha, it's hard to believe now but I almost didn't buy this app because I wasn't sure if it was worth $2. I couldn't have been more wrong! This app should be at least $10 or $15 and now that I've used it I would happily pay waaaay more than that. I've now spent 10 minutes of my life writing this review to let you know how awesome and helpful this app is. If you need it, buy it!! If you think you might need it, buy it!! If you don't need it, why are you still reading this!? Trust me, it's worth it... A sincere thank you to everyone that helped make this app!!

  • Simple. Perfect. Thank you!

I’ve been using Dropvox almost since it came out I think, and there are songs that exist now because of this simple and easy to use app. I click the big red button, it records, and then gets safely tucked away in my Dropbox. The sound quality is just fine and the fact that there are no editing or multitrack features keeps me focused on recording my ideas, not futzing with the recording. I love it!

I also like the new update. I often had to convert the audio to mp3 to send to others, so the fact that it does it for me is even better. I don’t care if perhaps a little fidelity is lost. If I care, I use Logic and a real microphone, not my iPhone, but this app has recorded jam sessions that would have been lost without it and I’m just happy to have them now regardless of the sound quality. Which is not so say that it’s bad - it sounds fine to me.

    Thank you!
