Reviews of Food Intolerances

  • Jaw dropping for 4 Years and counting…

First, I got this App to help me focus on my family’s dreaded dietary Histamine Intolerance then they kept adding filters for other conditions. Omega Fatty Acid ratios for Neurological Health? Yes. Glycemic Index and Load calculations per 3oz serving or 100g? Yes. It keeps going on and on. It’s like having a pocket Nutritionist for when you’re at the Grocery Store. This app is life-changing.
  • Docked a star for inaccurate oxalates

Overall, AWESOME app! Super user friendly and really helpful for those just starting to navigate food intolerances/sensitivities. My only complaint is inaccurate data on oxalates. See Sally Norton’s Toxic Superfoods book as well as the Data Companion for Toxic Superfoods for more accurate classifications and oxalate levels in foods and supplements.

    Developer Response

Dear HoundMom, we are very happy to hear that you are interested in the accuracy of our app. We have been working on the topic of oxalates since 2014 and evaluated a countless number of scientific articles and books in order to put together the information in our app. We do not rely on information you can find on various websites. We regularly review the current literature and revise information when necessary. You can find a list of references in the info section (“Knowledge base” >> “List of references”). In the “Knowledge base” you can find more information about why there is so much conflicting information in the article “What are oxalates?” >> “Why is there so much conflicting information?”. We are grateful for information about any potential errors, but not every deviation means that there is a mistake. Deviations may also simply be caused by different portion sizes. If you have any questions about the app, please, don't hesitate to get in touch with us!
  • Great little app with room to improve

I have so many contradictory diet guidelines I’m supposed to follow which makes it extremely difficult to eat healthily. This app lets me set most of those guidelines and shows me what I can and what I shouldn’t eat and why. I do wish there were more commercial products in the database rather than just single ingredients & whole foods, and I wish there were options for low fiber, low fat, etc in addition to the restricted diets settings. Overall happy with this app but also looking forward to see its development.
