Has lots of potential but......

This app has so much potential, but is more like a hobby to someone, rather than spending some real time on it and making it a stellar app. They don't seem open to suggestions to make it better. I teach emergency medicine and hope that someday an app will come along that expands on something like this. Unfortunately this is the best thing going out there and isn't very good.

Good for instructors

It's still a little rough around the edges. The EtCO2 needs a lot of work and BP function is twitchy at best. It won't display a BP with a diastolic of greater than 100 among other issues. Pacing feature could be better - but it's got one. No matter what after defib the patient will show a period of Asystole and if you don't hit a new rhythm at just the right moment the previous rhythm will reappear. Tip: when using blue tooth connection with the iPhone, set both devices to not sleep. After about twenty minutes of running scenarios the app will get clobbered up and you'll have to shut it down and boot back up - but that's ok.

All in all I really enjoy this app. There just needs to be several tweaks and support. I feel this app is constantly in BETA mode.

Most every rhythm generated on the old heart sine sims are shown

Pacer Mode

BP
It has EtCO2 - although it's pretty shotty

Improvements that need to be made:
Make EtCO2 display more realistically
Fix BP issues - add mean arterial pressure
Have a "standby" rhythm that the patient will convert to post defib or treatment
Have changes in rates be reflected on monitor
Allow more fine tuning of pacer have a section where I can input lab values - at least an ABG with Ph

Great Learning Tool

I'm a Professor of Nursing at WCU and teach an EKG/Pharm class also. This app puts it all together! It gives the students time to think about what drug is next, refresh on their rhythms and optimize their critical thinking. Love the added radiology films too. Keep it up please.

Keep on paying

I purchased this app to help me in paramedic school, I spent the lousy 13 dollars and now if I want to do anything on it I have to pay extra. Waste of money I just talked my instructor and a few students out of it after showing them mine.

Read carefully!

Looks good but a bit misleading as you have to purchase all of the add on bits like 12 lead ECG and remote control. Read details carefully!! A bit disappointing because of this.

Great monitor, poor remote

Bought this this week for teaching purposes. Trainees were impressed with the moving image and sound.

Several glitches that need ironing out:
- the remote function essentially doesn't work for more than a few minutes. This makes this a waste of investment.
- the scenarios come without enough explanatory material and it is unclear how they are different from the rhythm strips.
- the blood pressure function would not accept any numbers that I typed in.
- rhythm strips could have some more variation to make them look more realistic.

This is an ok app that has potential to be great if these glitches are resolved.

Incredible! A must have for ACLS & PALS Instructors

As an ER Physician at UCLA I often rely on certain applications. This DART Sim application is one of them. As a PALS & ACLS EP instructor I found this application to be very useful. What I like the most is the X-ray function. I can upload any radiology image I want. I can also create my own scenarios specific to ACLS EP. Also, if you visit DART Sim’s website you can purchase 3 lead cables and defib/pacer pads that can connect from the iPad to your manikin. Just like any application there can always be room for improvements. I feel the application needs the ability to link an iPhone for remote control. I was told this would be available within the next few months. I was very happy to hear about this. The company is very responsive and professional. I noticed a reviewer stating they couldn't connect a Bluetooth keyboard. Its really not rocket science. I really can't see how someone can mess that up. There is a PDF file in the program to help with Bluetooth connection and programing. If you can follow directions you won't have any issues. If you run into any hiccups just contact the company directly. I spoke to support services and they helped me connect my iPad to an overhead projector so that I can enlarge the display for my class. They really went above and beyond. I always say, "Software is only as good as your support"

Fayevel

Number 10 (first degree AV Block) and Number 20 (torsade de pointes) are not right. And I can not save my own scenarios. Please fix!

Good app for teaching

This app is the best EKG sim I've seen in the App Store so far. I use it frequently for teaching ACLS and PALS. Only issue I've found so far is that the program won't respond to my attempts to change the BP values. An update to fix this glitch would be helpful.
