  • Demo only

This app doesn't read your wifi environment. It only gives you an idea of what the paid version display options are.
  • Brilliant

I use this daily to do wifi surveys in hotel. Rejuvenate IT in Bournemouth sell them, they're very friendly and efficient.
  • Happy Customer

I'm very happy with my Wipry, I've been using it to track down interference in between my router and the computers in my place and it has been super helpful. Combined with the IMSO scope, I have a pretty decent troubleshooting kit, now that I've upgraded my phone and my iPad I have dedicated test equipment too. If you have an i device sitting around and you like to tinker, you may want to think about getting one of these.

Update: Still going strong, I use my Wipry on a semi-regular basis and I love having a spectrum analyzer and power meter on me at all times...
Having a Wipry and the IMSO scope has helped me both in the classroom and in my normal day-to-day life. The bad reviews for the Wipry are coming from people who don't even know what a tool like this is used for, and it bothers me that such a great company will have to deal with nit-witted worthless people.
Thank you Oscium, thank you very much...

  • Professional demo

Demo only, requires accessor(ies) to function, iPhone, iPod, iPad.
    Professional software $199.99
  • Very useful!

This app is quite excellent, but you do of course need to purchase the plugin adaptor in order to capture the data in the first place.

As an IT Professional, I make good regular use of this software and the plugin to help me in my job and in explaining to my clients where they have problems and why.

  • Worth every penny!

Not sure why the negative feedback on having to buy the accessory before you get full functionality of the product when that fact is clearly spelled out for you in the prod description? The free download without the accessory is only meant to show you what the application will do. They're not giving you free functionality, they're giving you a sample of what the product do. Maybe you should take time to read before downloading! The lack of intelligence in this country (USA) or those educated here amazes me, just learn to read and be willing to pay for a good product/tool and you will be further ahead in life..

Which brings me to my purpose for submitting this review. This is an incredible application which allows you to fairly accurately analyze Wi-Fi networks and if you like, analyze how the radio frequency in areas around the Wi-Fi networks interact helping you to determine possible Wi-Fi network problems. As far as cost goes, it's fairly inexpensive when you compare it to products which may do a better job but also cost you a whole lot more money. For the money you spend on this, up to $200, it does a pretty good job. In my opinion, it's worth every penny of it. Try pricing similar applications that run on laptops and you will see what I mean.

    Thanks for an incredible application.

  • Good product

Is a little pricey for the accessory. So for true functionality you need it but shows food graph of spectrum and signals
  • While I can see the spectrum, would like more details & simple presets

While I can see the spectrum, would like more details & simple presets. There are lots of configuration options available, but it'd be great to "see" the SSIDs on the heat map, so I know which network is where, in determining interference - like Wi-Spy software uses. In addition to SSIDs, a 'parabola' curve for each network would be useful in determining at a glance each WiFi signal strength and overlap. Finally, a split screen where the 2nd page lists all detected networks, allowing me to 'turn off' individual networks so the heat map doesn't get too cluttered.

As for configuration options, I'd like to be able to setup various profiles or combinations of options, so I can easily switch between multiple individual settings changes.

  • Could be better 2/5

I was really excited to purchase the $200 accessory. I have found the signal good, build quality great. The overall functionality of this is poor though. I would have liked to see actual network Signal, Strenghts and Authentication on the channels. Without these features I feel that is isn't worth purchasing. With this functionality it would be the best product around. I don't know why Apple has blocked these basic features that are available in other apple products like iMac. I wish WiFi Track worked on iOS 4 and 5.

  • Quick look at the spectrum, awesome tool

This is super handy for quick & dirty spectrum analysis! It not as powerful as my spectrum expert card, but it sure beats having to lug my old dell 610 around. Highly recommend this for the wireless engineer on the go. It is now part of my travel kit.
Feature requests I have: video recording/playback, signal signature identification and 5GHz support
