Doesn’t open
I just upgraded my phone to the latest iOS and line no longer opens. I can’t connect with anyone now.Gilzuma
line is so useful and great
i use line to communicate with family and friends. it is easy to use, with cute stamps and customisation of profile!! i like that i can link my account on multiple devices, and also like the line voom feature. only issues i have are: 1. i want to be able to see who read my message in a group chat 2. i want a reaction emoji that is not a face (like just a simple heart) that’s it! i love line 💚
oh yeah also forgot to mention but it’s the easiest method for me to call w people out of country (e.g my friends in Japan). also, i like the way i can unsend messages !!Show lessissei pop
Unable to login, lost account
Lost all my contacts because Line suddenly decided not to send text messages to specific regions and provides no other way of account recovery. Contacted Line support which provided a useless response.mooseman1352
Usable when it works
Used this app without issue for over a year as a messaging app, then one day my account got suspended for no specific reason. I made a new account with my new phone number but linked my old information. They suspended me again. Third account made using Apple ID, fine for months then I go on holiday and don’t use line for 3 weeks. One day I start getting all of the ‘verification needed’ messages. I tried to contact support but they don’t give any answers, I assume it is impossible to reinstate an account despite any waiting time guarantees. I have never seen a comment about someone successfully getting their account back. I give up with it.Show lessC1C1T3

Amazing app!! But I would like if you could see when other people are online, I have a group with 4 people in it and I can’t tell who is online or who saw the chat! But I love the fact that you can see if people saw your chat but I think it would be a grate update to add!Daitonah2022

Line apps are confusing and notifications can’t be shut off
Line is a very cute messaging app and I love many parts of it. But they need to do a much better job of integrating it’s third party apps like Line Go and Line Pay.
I had to Google several different sites to figure out how to add Line Go, the taxi app, into my account. It involved finding an obscure page and following it. The page does not show up if you search within the app. I couldn’t even figure out Line Pay but I heard you can only use it with a Taiwan bank account anyway.
Lastly the notifications can’t be muted. My god, this is such a simple feature. If you mute a channel’s notifications (for example a group that is very chatty but you need to stay in it for important updates), the notifications still appear on the badge icon in your iPhone. It makes it seem you’re missing direct messages so you are forced to check Line and discover the notifications are all from the group you muted. It’s incredibly aggravating and a waste of time and attention, please fix this Line.Show lessLeningrab
Exceptional in Japan, but Overseas Disappointment
In Japan, LINE is amazing! You can connect with businesses, do banking, purchase essential services like grocery delivery, insurance, and mobile phone service, and more, all within this one-stop app that puts a lot of digital power in the palm of your hands. The “by-Japanese for-Japanese” short-form video platform is a great addition, and the versatility of this app is truly impressive. The only downsides are that you’ll need a Japanese mobile phone number, making it challenging for foreigners to fully utilize the app. Additionally, providing your date of birth for age verification can be an inconvenience.
However, when it comes to using LINE overseas, the experience takes a sharp decline. You’re limited to buying a meager selection of stickers and themes, and the LINE official account inundates you with NFT scam advertisements and irrelevant smartphone game promotions. Registering a phone number for certain countries might further restrict your app functionality.
On a brighter note, some countries like Thailand and Taiwan Republic of China offer a more enhanced LINE experience, with access to Japanese services or their equivalents. If you’re located in one of these places, you can come close to the Japanese original experience. So, while LINE shines in Japan, its overseas version leaves much to be desired.Show lessDJできません
Screenshot Glitches
Since I updated my phone to iOS 17, I’ve noticed that whenever I send a picture/screenshot in the chat with some editing (drawing etc), the actual picture in the chat will look really funny. No problem sending the originals in the chat though.
Thought this will be fixed in Line’s latest update today but no it’s still the same 🤔Show lessallets_76
