Terrible Functionality
I love snapchat, it is a great way to communicate and stay in touch with people. However, in the last five years, snapchat has gone downhill to the point where I deleted it. The app is constantly bugging out and not allowing me to use my camera or click on anything, sometimes the app takes forever to load, sometimes things won't load at all and I have to redownload the app to resolve the issue. I also have experienced many scammers and fake accounts. Overall I am extremely disappointed with the direction snapchat has headed, trying to mimic other social medias apps such as instagram and tiktok with the feed and style of the app, but ultimately it just makes the experience less enioyable. I also find that the app is pushing the political and oversexualized agenda a lot especially in the feed section. No matter how many times I say I am uninterested, the app keeps giving me sexualized stories that I am not interested in or political stories on topics I am not interested in. These tactics are misleading children today and are not the information or lack-there-of that the youth should be subjected to. Very disappointing and sad to see a once wonderful app be another victim of corporate greed to get customers to spend as much time as possible scrolling. Just sad.

Stop Pointless Notifications and Ads
I’ve been using Snapchat since 2013. I’ve seen just about every update that has came out, but lately, the updates are just pointless. Stop putting advertisement in my chat messages. I do not want to see advertisements in my chat messages every time I open the app. This type of advertisement is very annoying and I do not want to see it. Do better. Especially for things that I wouldn’t even buy. Also, I’m tired of getting a notification to add someone on my snap who isn’t even a friend. I’m tired of getting notifications to look at spotlight. I do not want to look at spotlight. I do not want to add people who are not my friends. The app will not stop giving me suggestions for things I do not care about. There is nothing in the settings to stop it from showing me suggestions of “friends” that aren’t even people I know. Every day I get on Snapchat there is a red notification trying to get me to add random person or check out random videos. Snapchat is supposed to be for showing your friends quick videos and funny things in a quick way. It is too flooded with public profiles and pointless videos to make you keep scrolling.

Just getting worse
Every time they update it they obviously love getting off to making the app as annoying as possible. It was already annoying with the terrible brain rot click bait “Discover” section which more often than not is just advertising porn. Which I was fine with me for the most part because I simply just didnt view the Discover page anymore, I could go on about everything wrong with the Discover page, but its easy to ignore. But then adding the ai? Cant be removed without paying? And now ads popping up in the “Chat” section? Getting random notifications and the little number on the app icon as if Ive received a chat but its just ads? Snapchat used to be a fun app for messaging friends. Now days its nothing but annoying. Literally at this moment snapchat is more ads than chat. Snapads. Should be rebranded to Snapads for sure. Its also sad to think about the fact that porn is wildly advertised, considering that probably a considerable amount of users are children, app is listed as “12+” and your advertising porn? I was a child when I first downloaded Snapads. Trying to get kids addicted to that stuff is beyond scummy. This app is rotting worse than Twitter and Reddit but the only difference is its not the users killing it, but the Devs.

👌worst app ever
I use to think Snapchat was amazing used it for years but t for the last couple of years they been closing peoples accounts for no reasons lock-in em up without letting people know why what’s the problem ect ect . We loose all our memories bc majority of us will only use snap for storing memories ect ect I think now I truly hate Snapchat bc there’s no point of snap anymore ; they don’t care if someone else is reporting false information just to get your account taken down bc others are miserable . If I could leave no stars I would I hate you snap chat y’all disgust me . And y’all continue to discriminate against me. I’ll report a person that is harassing me sending me dck pics & videos or reporting people bc of their hateful nasty words and y’all don’t do nothing I don’t violate nothing for y’all to take down my accounts but yall do it anyways yall lock my accounts and I can’t even get them back . I loose Al me memories that I have on there . Smh I’m disappointed In Snapchat frfr . And the more y’all ban ppl the more y’all won’t be able to make sense of what’s fin happen to the app . You’ll loose a lot more people banning them or taken fown their accounts. That’s less people using the app . But thanks for always discriminating against me I really do love it ( sarcasm if you Can’t get the hint ) and when y’all are in a lawsuit best believe I’ll be in it !

Worst app
Made the mistake of downloading this app 8 years ago and now I want to delete it. Actually have been wanting to delete it for around a year now because of how useless it is, but couldn’t because it will not allow me to download my memories. I have 8 years worth of photos in there and I can’t select more than 100 photos or 20 videos at a time to download onto my phone. So you can imagine how long it will take for me to save every single pic and video as I’ve had this app for more longer than I should have. It’s so glitchy, sometimes it won’t even let you save 2 videos at the same time depending on the length of the video. It’s such a pain having to save them. Also some videos have no audio for whatever reason because I’ll just randomly glitch and not record the audio of the video. Snapchat is worse now because it’s copied all the other brain rot apps like the reels and TikToks, but done a horrible job at copying too. If I could give this app 0 or negative stars I would. One of the worst mistakes of my life was downloading this app. There is so much room for improvement that you’re better off deleting the app from the App Store completely.

Nice app but could use some work
Snapchat is a cool app, I’ve had it for years and I’ve seen the changes that it went through, but it could definitely use more changes. I use snapchat on the daily and one thing I noticed is that certain items in the clothing section to dress up your avatar you have to pay for. I know it’s been there for a while but I didn’t care about it a whole a lot until I was writing this review and it crossed my mind. Why should we have to pay $2 or any money at all just for a jacket for your avatar? Snapchat already makes a lot of money so I feel like paying for that stuff is unnecessary.
Now for the main reason I’m writing this review. I am a snapchat plus user and I use almost every feature accompanied by snap+. But one thing I think would make having snapchat plus more enjoyable is being able to save your previous AI backgrounds. I use this feature a lot and love creating new fun prompts but sometimes when I choose a new one, sometime later I want my old one back. But I can’t get the exact picture back and instead have to recreate it somehow to get the closest thing to it because I can’t save them. This is just a suggestion (one I highly recommend), but for snapchat plus users like me, this feature would be pretty nice.

Security issues
Snap was an alright app for the most part until i started having issues with my account now i understand that if you log in and out to many times it takes that as suspicious but i only had 2 accounts one was my old account i logged into every once and awhile because ive had it for years so i like to go back into my memories and then another one witch was my main, after a bit i started having trouble logging into my old account and I thought maybe because I haven’t logged into snap on it in awhile it might need me to re verify or what not thought to myself I’ll do it later logged back into my main hour or 2 later I go into snap and it says that my device is permanently banned and I trouble shooted and it said that nothing could be done so I emailed snap telling them that I think I got hacked and all they said to my response was “ We understand your frustration and we’re sorry for the trouble. We’ve looked into all of the available information, and unfortunately we’re unable to provide any further assistance. We won’t be corresponding any further to this conversation, and apologize for any disappointment this may cause.” Like good to know that any sensitive information I have on my account is probably in the hands of someone else such as my passwords family photos ext…

I got banned for no reason
dont get me wrong love good old snapchat until “someone” silly must have reported me there for i got locked out of my account and as a teenager girl it was the end of my world i tried everything. and after all the trying the app got “temporarily” disabled on my phone great. i do have my old phone which i have a new account set up on and just saw it needed to be updated and i looked into it and it said bug fixed. I am now hoping and praying that i can try on my main phone to have access to the app. not to mention it said my account was under review and it could take up to 30 days which it has been well over that time and i did some research and found out the a temporary disable for snapchat is up to a week it has been over a week. all im saying is if you have any tips or anything to help me out please respond.

Great app but could use some changes.
Great app, but it could use some changes. When I’m screen sharing the other person can’t hear the sound from my screen. This is annoying because if I’m calling someone who doesn’t have much other socials then I can’t screen share with sound on other platforms if they don’t have any of them. Another thing that should be fixed is ultra wide on older phones, XR, and etc. It may just be the phone that doesn’t have .5 itself but if it’s not and it just isn’t provided for XR and the older iPhones including androids it should be added. Another thing is that there should be an option to get rid of the Snapchat AI. It’s kind of creepy speaking that it can send me SNAPS? You can tell that there AI generated but it’s still creepy. Another thing is that you should be able to watch the Snapchat spotlights without wifi, I’m not sure if that is possible but if it is, I would love that update as someone with no SIM card (strict parents) and don’t have data. Another thing is there memories should have a password along with the my eyes only. One last thing there needs to be more clothing options most of them are low-key ugly(mb if I’m being harsh) but it’s true. As a person who owns uggs(slippers) but there not there!!!!!! Just the Tasman uggs. That’s basically all I have to say. Good app though (one of my favorite apps.)

BITMOJIS
I AM BEING SO SERIOUS YOU NEED TO FIX THIS NOW. YOU HAVE BEEN ASKED TO CHANGE THE BITMOJIS BACK TO THE 2D FORM FOR MONTHS NOW it was one thing bringing in the 3D bitmojis to begin with, and then you removed the games in the app to make room for this stupid AI. Then you made the Bitmoji is extremely ugly and put them everywhere!!! I literally can’t find the 2D Bitmoji anywhere except for in Bitmoji stories which you will probably change soon as well since you don’t know how to listen. Now my 3D Bitmoji is literally in the Bitmoji stickers which is ugly to look at like fix it please it’s so bad and I really liked Snapchat until all of this. I like before all of this stupid Bitmoji stuff I used to love Snapchat so much and it was my favourite app to use I literally had nothing bad to say about it. I understand adding updates to engage more people but this is just terrible because nobody even wants it it’s unnecessary. I still like to use Snapchat for messaging my friends and stuff but something really needs to be done about this Bitmoji is because I’m not the only one who thinks so literally everyone does I have read many other reviews say the same thing but you have continued to make it worse.
