  • Where are the songs?

I purchased this subscription after viewing the free issue. It is very cool, but there are some short lessons and I was excepting full song transcriptions. For 54.99$ I feel as though I paid for a commercial with some cool features.
  • Nice looking - but too expensive

At $5.99 per issue there no way I would cherry pick and the subscription is WAY more expensive than I would be offered for print.

These publishers need to stop trying to make top dollar on a product that has a fraction of the overhead.
  • Great start - but not a complete version of the magazine

I would have given this 5 stars but the first issue has some features missing compared to the magazine - the Trivium interview, some product reviews and the Long Termers feature were missing, so not as complete as the paper version. Also why the delay in publishing the deluxe edition every month? The paper January edition is out as I write, but no sign yet of the ipad version.

  • Not bad at all - finally!

The subscription now works. Ok it was a bit late coming, considering the promise that we would get the mag as soon as published, but this is the first month it's been out after all.

To Mostupset and anyone else who hasn't discovered this: turn the iPad to portrait and tap the 'Read' button. Then you get the text of the reviews. Don't forget to swipe as there is often more than one page to each review. Also the tabs ('spec' etc.) take you to different parts of the review. In landscape mode you get the nice photos and videos.

Altogether pretty good I would say.

A further note (November 25th): this is getting better. The new issue is great. But the promise that we can access the magazine "as soon as it is published" has not been met yet, as the print version has been out for a few days. But I bet that eventually this will come good.

  • No review information

If you want to see pretty pictures and a short videos of guitars then this is for you, if you want to actually get information and read reviews this is hopeless. The review on equipment had no written information so I am still none the wiser about the kit in question from the 3 lousy pictures and two minute video that told you nothing other than watch someone play a few sounds without any description or explanation of the equipment. Deffo not a buy so I'm out

  • Dave

Love this mag and format! Top work - the pics, video and sound are so rich and immersive.

Outstanding - well worth subscribing to.
  • Not impressed

First the app wouldnt download, they say they fixed that, but all I see are the ads and title pages for the stories, but I cant open any of the articles. And $16.99 for three issues? Seriously? no magazine is worth that. PASS. Obviously the app isnt fixed.
    A major let down.
  • Fantastic

The future of interactive mags is here. Settle down everyone re initial glitch, it's all sorted. This is something true guitarists will love.
  • Problem Fixed

The technical issue seems to be fixed. I was contacted by the editor about the problem. This app is state of the art and what an Ipad periodical should be. If you play guitar it is a must have!
  • Guitarist cutting edge maintained

Absolutely perfect in every single detail. I hope this standard is maintained. This mag has always been at the very forefront of technology and a key first adopter of new ideas - I remember them embracing this weird new thing called "The Internet" - no idea what happened to that. Just sublime. Get it.
