Group chats won’t come through over a month for a ton of fb users
A ton of people are complaining on other social medias about the same thing I’m going through and a friend. Our group chats are not coming through in our messenger at all. Facebook has no way of getting to a live person and mark wants to use a bot system that’s failing all over the place. Putting people in Facebook jail with reasons that don’t exist for the person. Mark doesn’t care about us and we can’t get the right person to person help. Facebook is garbage now and I wish he would come out of the clouds and see how we are not happy with Facebook like we used to be. Get rid of the bot help system to keep money and get real customer service. Help us get our group chats to come through. They show we are still in them but they group chats when we look in our messenger for them, the page is nothing but black and the chat button is missing on the group front page for us. How can you all please correct this for us? And when it comes to reporting, nothing gets solved or even shows that it was sent and I’ve sent a ton of reports on this and so have others and they get no responses too. Help please!!!

It’s such a gift, and such a pleasure to be able to use the Internet to make phone calls and have good reception. I’m old so old that when my father was at work in New York City, and he wanted to call home to speak to my mother., 15 miles away there were “toll charges “which were extra additions onto your monthly bill.
We were a military family, and when we were stationed in Alaska, Colorado, South Carolina, it was letter writing every Sunday used for communication. By the middle of the week you would receive the letter from your loved one, and on Sunday everybody sat down at their typewriters to write letters, they were no phone calls, it was way too expensive.
To call using Messenger and the Internet, and have no extra charge for speaking to someone who is near and dear, although very far away, is really a gift and I appreciate it so much, have him come from another world. Thank you.♥️

Messenger review
There’s no problem with the actual app itself. The problem is with 90% of people who use this app. I have a lot of experience with buying AND selling on marketplace. The majority of people don’t read the description and then ask you questions that you already answered in the add. 90% of people ask if it’s available. I tell them it is and then never hear from them again. I’m currently selling a $4000 motorcycle for $2000. Not a single person offered me anything close to my asking price. I get ridiculous offers from $500 to $1000. Overall it’s been a terrible experience.
The same thing happens when I’m trying to buy something. I had all the cash I needed to buy someone’s car. They either don’t respond, or it’ll take days to get a response. I once agreed to meet up with someone to buy their car. Had to go to the bank to take the money out and drive 45 minutes to get to the car… once I got there the guy stopped answering his phone.
Moral of the story. Don’t use marketplace. It’s full of time wasters and tire kickers. Use Craigslist. You have to pay a fee to post a listing on there so everyone is serious about buying or selling.

Ruined with Meta AI
The Meta AI bot gets in the way of basic functionality of the app. Being able to use the search button after typing a message to use effects is something I personally use with quite a few people I speak with. Since the Meta AI update was pushed, I have been unable to use those features for messages that are longer than one word without the Meta AI bot taking up residence where the search button used to be. The Meta AI bot feels redundant. I see more people complaining on online forums about it rather than praising it.
Before the AI functionality was released, the app was a solid 5/5. Really tanked the experience for me and quite a few others! Would be better if the UI was updated so the AI bot does not encroach on the other features of the app, for example, search bars & other “search” functions.

The update deleted all my photos
Put at the top 5 because they delete negative reviews However personally I Rate 1 star.
For several years,I have sent photos to my messenger account messaging myself directly along with friends and family thousands of photos over the course of years with no issues of storing it and today I updated my messenger due to it running slow/ glitchy. this update deleted all of the saved pictures in the chat log to myself and to several family members. pictures of my childhood, my children and my animals that have passed away along with so much more. Years of life gone due to an update 💔. I’m so beyond disappointed Messenger used to be what I communicated through with friends and family On a daily basis. This is foul.
WTH is this End - to end encryption and your privacy conversation locks that I didn't accept but it was put on my char logs that delete all the prior conversations / photo’s shared between people before the encryption why are chats on mobile browsers are not available anymore either? Messenger was better before!!!

Update : it has only gotten worse. So much so that even if you delete the app and try to use messenger through the Facebook app it only tells you that someone sent a message but won’t let you view it. It will say “loading” for days. Nothing fixes it. I have tried closing the app, deleting and reinstalling, deleting and using the Facebook app, trying to use the browser version on a laptop. The only solution that is provided by a subreddit, yes. A subreddit, not even Facebook themselves, is to clear the cache on your phone. But as you all know, you can’t DO that on IPhone. Alternatively you can turn encryption off. But you know what that does? That deletes messages in those chats that are three months old and older. I don’t know about the rest of you, but some of us have messages that are sentimental that they wouldn’t want to lose. Some even being from loved ones that are no longer present in your life, even no longer with us. Are you REALLY telling me that the only fix for this broken app from a multi billion dollar company is to potentially get rid of messages that mean something to you? Genuinely. Just fix your absolute dumpster fire of an app, Zuckerberg. I’m so sick of you.

Handy Messenger
Messenger is used daily with my to adult children. Phone and message wise. I am 86 years old and live alone. I have no family living near me my daughter is over 200 km away and my son lives in Sydney, I am in New Zealand. Therefore the reliability of Messenger has been a great consolation, as events happen photos are exchanged as updates. Because of our frequent, and ease, of use my family are spared any anguish as to my state of health. Keep up the high quality operation. thanks.

No notifications for requests & stuck Facebook notifications
I don’t use messenger much, but am part of few community groups like Buy Nothing where group members use messenger to communicate details about where to pick up items Being given away. Unfortunately, at present there does not seem to be an option to allow messenger to notify you when a request to communicate through messenger is received or accepted. This means when someone genuinely wants an item, they may appear to be unresponsive because they don’t realize they have a messenger request to communicate. it would be nice to have an option to allow messenger notifications around requests to inform people who aren’t already connected with about requests.
Also, there is a bug that is creating red badge notifications within Facebook when you have messages in messenger and reading the message does not clear the red dot notifications in Facebook. so far the only thing that clears it is uninstalling messenger, which is super annoying.

NEW BUG !
When I click to add a photo to my message, it now has multiple options, which is annoying, even more so, the fact I cannot chose a particular album where my photo is saved !
So you force me to scroll through 1000s of photos???🤔 Appalling!!
IT’S BROKEN !!
Used to be efficient - not anymore. No longer can edit a sent message - you’re going backwards! Whenever I blocked someone, they couldn’t send me messages… Now, I I block them, but they’re still able to send me messages; the difference is I cannot see them! Fix this asap. Suddenly it became erratic! I send photo attachments, it says “sent”, but my friend cannot see them!? I close the app, scroll up/down and it no longer shows the profile preview of my contacts!? I open a message thread sent yesterday w/ photos and it’s says: “content no longer available”! So I cannot even see the photos I sent the day before, where my friend received them and reacted to them!🤔 I deleted and reinstall the app but no improvement!

Terrible.
I am totally blind and a voiceover user on an Apple iPhone. I have used messenger for many years and have been very thankful for it, but the last several updates have had the same issue. They were resolved until the next update, and then Messenger was broken again. I am still able to type in text fields and access various information in the app, but messenger jumps up to the previous page of messages and continuously reads down until it gets to the end. I can’t hit the back button to leave my current chat. I can’t get into a text field, I can’t do anything once it starts reading, and while it is reading, and I’m trying to type or anything, it is entering random letters under my finger, but because voiceover is very slowly reading down the last two or three pages worth of messages, it isn’t telling me that I’m inputting things so that if I don’t check, when I send my next message, it’s full of gobbledygook. I can’t stop it from reading or see the current text field that I am in without leaving the app completely and re-entering it again. It’s very annoying and it slows my productivity down a lot.
