Extremely slow “Loading cool spots”
Extremely slow “Loading cool spots” almost every time I return to the app since recent update, often while I’m on a campsite page not even the map. I downloaded offline maps too. Slow to pop up icons when you move the map slightly since the update too. Really frequent updates but these issues are getting worse, not better. One update nerfed the app so badly I had to delete and redownload it. Of course the South Island often doesn’t have enough service to accomplish that, so if you’re relying on this app, you might want to take screenshots or save the campgrounds you like in Maps before this app’s bugs leave you stranded.
July 8 update nerfed the app again. Map would load with no listings and empty menus. Deleted app & re-downloaded my offline maps again, but of course now all my saved favorites are lost again.

Eh.
It doesn't have that much more information than the Maps app does for the most part, and is super pushy about all the co-marketing and in-map advertising. I downloaded it because it was suggested as the best way to see where to go when you need to hit the can. The other stuff on the map is pretty useless and annoying. We wound up deleting it before our trip was over.

Not as good anymore
I used this app while travelling for two months last year and it was amazing!!! I loved it and used it everyday... Just went to plan a new trip and the last update has me looking for a new app:( so slow to load has pop up ads you can’t exit and drains my phone battery(not great while camping) also some features have me confused on where to find walks I did last year?

Thanks for your feedback. We have provided several fixes in the new version 4.12.2. You can find walks by using the filter in the right-hand menu.

Great for finding Dump Points
Well believe it or not, I have found this to be the best and easiest app to find dump points. When you are free camping it’s very important to find the nearest dump point cause you don’t know when you’re gonna need it.
App not working on iPhone 12.5.7
I have to write this review because the app has stopped working after the latest update. I’m using an iPhone 6+ on 12.5.7 and according to CamperMate it’s compatible. But all I see is a blank screen & none of the buttons or icons within the app work. If I click the App Support link from the App Store CamperMate, it simply opens the App, which isn’t working!!

Great app
Overall this is a great app. I like how the pins are always displayed in their exact location even when you zoom out (other apps group the pins together which I don’t like). Offline access is perfect. Filters work quite well, and they’re persisted across sessions which is great. However, the ads are super frustrating - it would be nice to be able to remove ads via an in-app purchase. Also, when I open the app it often freezes for about 5 seconds. But yeah it’s still the best app for NZ.
