Price History of EASe Listening Therapy

Description of EASe Listening Therapy

EASe was studied by researchers at Brenau university in 2012 and found effective in reducing auditory hypersensitivity in children with sensory processing disorder. EASe Listening Therapy The EASe Listening Therapy app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad was developed for children with autism and other sensory processing disorders (SPD), who often respond to noise with exaggerated reactions and behavioral or learning issues. EASe Listening Therapy uses music to deliver short, intense bursts of sound, creating a sensory palette of sonic experiences that can help a child learn to cope with typical environmental conditions. This long-term listening therapy program exceeds the functionality and performance of hardware devices costing $10,000. Three modes 1) No subscription This mode allows you to test all features of EASe without having to pay for them. However, this mode is limited to one song. Many thousands of children with autism and other SPD disorders have benefitted from using EASe music CDs. Try this mode to explore the potential of the app. 2) Legacy In Legacy mode, you can purchase additional modules (or download and listen to the ones you already own. Modules from our other EASe apps are transferable via iCloud). 3) Guided No need to fiddle with settings. Login and start the session. After each session, just answer two questions to determine how the program continues. Collect achievements and view previous session details. 4) Pro Pro mode allows you to stream or download all modules. No need to purchase them separately. Pro enables you to enter your own values for burst, gap and attack as well as customize the frequency and gain of the bursts. You can modify the left and right ear levels. And Pro allows you to email your own settings to other users of EASe (They do not need a pro subscription to use those settings). More features are coming (like notch filters as well as bass bursts. The pro subscription is geared towards therapists. If you choose to purchase a Legacy, Guided or Pro subscription, payment will be charged to your iTunes account, and your account will be charged for renewal 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. Auto-renewal may be turned off at any time by going to your settings in the iTunes Store after purchase. Current price for Legacy is USD $11.99 per 3 months, for Guided is USD $49.99 per 3 months, for Pro is USD $99.99 per 6 months. Pricing may vary from country to country. Please observe our privacy policy and terms of use at http://audioforge.net/privacy/ The EASe app for iPhone, iPod, Touch and iPad was developed by Audioforge Labs and Vision Play, LLC, in cooperation with Vision Audio Inc., creators of the popular EASe listening therapy CDs and video games for children on the autism spectrum. TESTIMONIALS "I have 6 children listening to the music using the Seinheiser headphones. They all have been on either EASe or Therapeutic Listening CD's for over 6 months. Nothing but good to report. I have had no problem with the application-works great. One of my parents stated she liked the quality of the music better? This is the 2nd week (I only see them 1 time a week) and all of them have made some positive changes this week: -Awareness/interaction of their environment -Improvement in vestibular movement and tolerance of movement -Receptive language -Increase in play skills -Good tolerance of music-seem to enjoy listening" - Karen Roessler, OTR/L And about 3 weeks later: "I continue to use the program with 8 of my children; all of them have had great responses and enjoy the selections. In fact a few do not want to Stop listening. Sensory processing including spatial orientation and auditory attention have improved as noted through parent/therapist observation." - Karen Roessler, OTR/L

Reviews of EASe Listening Therapy

  • Confusing, crash, expensive

I was recommend the lite version of this software (which no longer appears to exist) by the book “self regulation intervention and strategies”, so decided to give this one a shot. I am emailing the authors to see if they now have a recommended alternative

Firstly the UI is a series of dials and knobs with no explanation.

Secondly it crashed a few times when I started tapping around on the dials on the first screen on latest iOS, could be because it hasn’t been updated in years.

Lastly, there appears to be a guided mode for the software, but it costs $50+ for the in app purchase to try it out. Mind boggling. I looked at some of the other in app purchases and they all appear to be over $50. Get your wallet ready if you think this app is going to help you, rip off

    Thank you!
  • Customer Service

This is a great tool but I cannot get through to anyone at company. We paid $99 on July 27 and it worked until the renewal on Jan 27. We were charged another $99 but then it asked for a code. I reached out twice to the company with no response. We never got a credit and were unable to use. Our daughter was using this program but then it stopped functioning. No response and out $99. They need to hire someone competent (or more people) for customer support. The only way to reach them is to submit a customer form on the website but then you never get a reply. Post a real email or 800 number.
  • Paying a subscription for modules I spent $40 a piece on?!?

I have already spent over $200 and it's asking me to use this app instead of the other app that I spent $40 on. This app you can't use your modules hat you already paid for unless you pay for a 9.99 subscription. If I would have known this a couple years ago then I would have chosen the cds or ad card. I don't think this is morally right to switch to this for people that bought it before this. A lot of these parents that buy this go without to get help give their child a better chance. We should at least be grandfathered in.

    Developer Response

Hi there, The EASe app is a very sophisticated app with a high demand for support and maintenance. The benefits of EASe are clearly showing in both anecdotal evidence as well as peer-reviewed studies. However, the business model of sale and unlimited updates for life turned out not to be sustainable for us. We were faced with the choice of stopping to build the EASe app or introducing subscriptions to be able to maintain working and improving the app. Even right now, the subscriptions are not covering the minimum we require to keep going. So we have to evaluate every quarter if we need to increase the pricing of the subscriptions. This is not what we want but the reality is that we need to pay our bills. 9.99$ for three months is still super cheap if you consider that a program with a therapist will cost you way north of 1000$ for just a few days. We still believe the EASe app is the best way to experience EASe, superior to the EASe CDs because you can adjust the intensity. As for being grandfathered in: you can still continue the other app you purchased for 40$. It might function for quite a while, especially if you are willing to stick to an older version of iOS. But we will not update it anymore for the stated reasons. Please contact us directly (support@audioforge.ca) if you want to discuss further. We are dedicated to EASe as it clearly helps improve people's lives but do not quite understand how 40$ per year is supposed to be outrageous. Kind regards, Tibor
