Good app
So I’ve been using this for the last 3 years, from when I set up my company! The functions are good, it’s easy to use on both ends!
It’s a tad expensive but overall it’s a good app.

Very good!
Great app! My only issue is that despite work location changing start of the week, my account doesn't😔
Absolute garbage
I’ve used a few similar apps , I can honestly say this one is absolute rubbish , why ?.
Where do I start really , inaccurate time keeping , doesn’t log you off when you click it too , sends you texts plus emails plus notification all about the same thing , why someone thought it necessary to do that is beyond me , I don’t know maybe they want you to pick up your phone every 5 mins to read the app’s notifications maybe the app is lonely and needs attention, for someone like me who drives heavy vehicles all day I really don’t want to be annoyed every 5 minutes by an app that keeps saying “ don’t forget to log out at 2:30 pm “ 5 minutes after you have started your shift , then reminds you every hour the same thing

Too many notifications
Notifications should only be sent when unscheduled shifts have been approved and when you have an upcoming shift. I keep getting notifications about available shift when I can easily check that by opening the app and clicking on the available shifts. I have turned off the notifications for this reason and have missed SEVERAL approved shifts because I expected to be notified for this then remember that I turned off the notifications because of the excessive amount of notifications. Please fix this. I turned on my notifications and woke up to literally HUNDREDS of notifications

Always An Issue
I don’t mind Deputy for the most part, but I haven’t been able to view my timesheet in MONTHS because the page won’t load. (And I’ve deleted, reinstalled, and updated it already.) Can you please fix this, for the love of god. Because I hate not being able to verify my times every day. And it’s too difficult to get my timesheet daily from a superior.
All of my staff ALSO can’t load their timesheet pages. Which honestly, to me, makes the app almost useless.

favours employers way too much
Was blocked from turning off my app whenever we left the premise and had to text the boss whenever we left it on for too long even though they should trust that we know we’ve left it on for too long. They were basically counting minutes with us. If the app has a tracker system let the employees be able to see when they leave the store. The features of the app allowed my higher ups to exploit it and minimise or remove our over time and overturn under pay us.
It gives too much power to the employer and even blocks us from editing it and so it’s up to us to turn it on accordingly or else. My app was basically useless as I wasn’t able even see the weekly time sheet as they blocked us from seeing each others hours, not too mention the forced breaks & deletion of timesheets overtime. There should be a summary page for employees to track the amount of hours they’ve worked & even categories them.
It just facilities shady business practices & over controlling “ bosses” abusing their power.

Paper to Digital
The Deputy system as been a great way to accurately track shift hours in a single button press.
As an employee who enjoys working with technology to improve efficiency, the Deputy System allows us to easily to track hours rather then writing hours down manually as well as efficiently view our rotas remotely when not on site - previously we used to have paper rotas. The app also allows me and my colleagues on a casual contract to 'request’ shifts & allows all employees on the same department to ‘swap’ shifts which improves rota accuracy with live updates.
I would highly recommend the Deputy System for a modern paper alternative.

Break Confirmation Buttons!!!
No matter what I do, it leaves my shift open until the next day and then I get a notice in the morning saying it was left open and automatically closed. You literally can’t complete your shift without sliding over the buttons, which have repeatedly changed color, style and format. Also, update notifications are not going out. But, I just updated it yesterday and it still didn’t register and left it open. Every time this happens I lose 1/2 hour off my shift. So frustrating!

Response from developer
Hi Phadestar Basslinerider, sorry to hear you're having issues with the app. We're all about building the best possible experience and this doesn't sound up to scratch. We'd like to get to the bottom of what went wrong - the next time this happens, could you record a video or take screenshots and send them to us, along with a brief message, to ios-support@deputy.com, we'll get in touch shortly to help. Thank you.
Going downhill
I used to love it, it was great. But right now I’m clocked in, at home, with no way to clock out until I go in next. You have to be within 100 ft to clock in and out. I can no longer add or edit timesheets either, even though there’s a button for it, so instead of just editing out the extra hours of the shift, I have to leave it as it is. There’s also no way to remove a profile picture.

A LITERAL waste of time
I’m employed by a company that uses this app for clocking in and out, and I couldn’t hate this app more. Cell service isn’t great in the area where my school is, I guess. It takes up to 5 minutes for the app to load. I can’t clock in early, for my shift, or from break, and I START working before 8 am hits, and students and staff aren’t allowed to have their phones out on campus. Not to worry, what Deputy DOES do quickly is notify your employer, within 3 minutes of your tardiness, which was caused by their app performance and rigidly narrow amount of time to clock in. Now, I have spent my 10 minute break and 30 minute unpaid lunch, trying to clear this up. I couldn’t recommend this app less. I would rather stamp a sign in sheet with the blood of my own freshly severed finger, that use this app, and can’t wait to be finished with it after Friday. Carrier pigeon would be more reliable.
