Worse than useless on an iPad

There is a massive empty screen with just three fields to fill in, customer number, password, security token. Unfortunately the dunderheads who decided to leave the top 50% of the screen blank & start half way down ensured that the Apple keyboard completely hides all but the first customer number field. When you try to get to the next field by hitting done or return or anything the customer number field returns to blank & tells you you haven’t completed the required data fields, the field which you can’t see or access because the keyboard is over the top of them!!!
Amateur hr Bendigo bank.

Key Features Missing

Overall Bendigo Bank does offer good customer service. The key features missing from the mobile app are push notifications. I have provided this feedback for the last 5 years yet still no notifications. Also as many others have mentioned no in app card details which is a must these days when you don’t carry a wallet around. Lastly with home loans the app does not tell you how much the minimum payment is - a very simple things for a credit product.

The most basic app and not in a good way. Needs more helpful features!!

Can you please group our spending into categories on a bar chart, instead of that useless line graph? Like “in the last month you spent $100 on entertainment, $300 on groceries, $50 on eating out” etc. It’s honestly making me want to move back to my old bank just to have this feature back. Even being able to save up for a goal e.g. a holiday fund which gives you targets to save to each week.

In times like these we need more structured financial aid and if you can provide that to your customers free of change, that’s a massive incentive to stay with you - if not, it’s a big reason to leave/not choose you. Word of mouth is the most powerful advertising tool.

No Transaction Push Notifications (yet)

It would be great to have the ability to enable push notifications (or at least SMS notifications) when any purchases are made using a Bendigo card I store or online. Currently, the only notifications are the standard Apple wallet push notifications when using Apple Pay, but no notifications when making purchases online or in store using a physical card. Transaction notifications would help provide that bit of extra peace of mind!

Hey Hayde2800, thanks for the suggestion. We'll pass it onto the app development team on your behalf. ^Ally

Clumsy security team

Automated security alert has locked me out of e-banking. This was generated because I was using a trusted and well known VPN service on my up to date secure Apple device. Security team admitted as much but refused to unblock my e banking until I signed a stat deck absolving them of all future liability in regards to my account or paid some one to do a factory reset (which any one with half a brain can do themselves through settings) This is nothing short of blackmail and if Bendigo banks security team don’t know how to deal with VPN use (which actually protects the user from malicious actors online) then they frankly aren’t up to the job.

Poor readability

My biggest issue with the Bendigo app is readability. It barely meets the accessibility guidelines for mobile apps, with font size set to the bare minimum, causing difficulty to read even while wearing reading glasses. This would be acceptable if you could zoom in, but that functionality is not available. I’d like consolidate all my banking with Bendigo however, as I do most transactions on my mobile, I keep an account open at another bank solely because it’s app is easy on the eye. Bendigo, please think about your user cohort who don’t have 20:20 vision.

Hi Shallyban, thanks for your review. We'll pass this feedback onto our developers to consider in future updates of the app. ^Kirsty

Can we update the token to digital rather then a physical fob?

As we are moving to a more technological online and digital world, is it possible to retire the old school token toggle fob that provides the 4 digit combination to something online. As having to carry around the toggle to simply add a new payee contact is quite frustrating and old school thinking. There have been numerous times I’ve had to split the bill with a friend at dinner and ask for their bank details but then realised I don’t have my token toggle with me to add their details and so I have to wait till i’m home to add them as I have left my toggle back at home.

This would save so much time and be more efficient if you could confirm your token combination through an automated SMS so you can pay your new contact right there and then without having to grab out a manual token toggle and enter a combination just to add them and confirm them.

Looking forward to your response about this idea and if it will be a possible update to the banking app.

Thank you.

Hi C.Law92. Thanks for getting in touch with us. We definitely appreciate your feedback and suggestions which we'll pass onto our app development team. We do have a free e-token that you can download from your app store by searching VIP Access. Once you've downloaded the app, you'll just need to give our customer service team a call on 1300 236 344 to link it to your account. The VIP access token works the same way as the token toggle, removing the need to carry the physical token with you. ^Ally

Love the app but a few improvements

I love Bendigo bank, overall they’ve been really good, and the app is super easy to navigate. I would love it if it could be improved so I could make kind of different goals. I have a second account with Up banking, and you can have ‘savers’ for example one for spending and one for saving, and set goals for how much you want to save in each of them. It would be really good if this was a feature in the Bendigo bank app! So I can put in for savings, and then some in for spending to help control spending. Other than this, I love the app!

Hi Sarah, thanks for the great feedback. We'll take that onboard when we're doing future upgrades. ^Kirsty

Great, but...

Ok the overall app is easy to use, fast and simple. You can easily manage multiple accounts and even setup weekly transactions between those accounts, like I do when I put money from my main account into my savings account. The only downside is there is NO APPLE PAY. I’ve looked into this and I have found that Bendigo Bank did apply for an Apple Pay ‘thing’, along with a few other major banks. BUT, good ol’ Apple rejected them. I don’t know if ANZ is paying Apple to keep Apple Pay an ANZ only thing, but ( Just letting you know if you haven’t realised by now that I am directing my anger at Apple and ANZ, not Bendigo Bank: you’re awesome.) Apple needs to get this fixed. WHY DID YOU REJECT THEIR APPLICATION. YOU CAN ONLY EARN MONEY FROM THAT. Please Bendigo Bank if there’s anything you can do please do it but I understand this may be out of your hands.

Hi Lambaalpacadude, thanks for the review. In regards to Apple Pay, this is currently one our highest priorities as we understand that our customers want a variety of payment options. We're working on it and will update our customers when this is available. ^Kirsty

Network issues

Really easy to use app, can check everything I need. However, since last week, I've been unable to login: both by the 4 pin login and password login. The message "network issue" comes up. I deleted the app and downloaded again, but still unable to login. I can login into my account on my laptop, but I loved being able to check my account on my phone whenever I want, on the spot, rather than having to bring my laptop everywhere. Hope the network issue gets resolved soon!! Wanna be able to use the app again ><
