Frustrating

Despite having Quick View and Facial ID recognition enabled I see neither without logging in. What’s the point of enaith if they don’t work?

Login process is awful

Once you get into the app, everything works pretty well, but I have other banking apps and none of them are nearly as clunky and slow when it comes to the login process. I really wish the developers would consider streamlining the process and letting you login immediately with Face ID like every other banking app, instead of making you insert your password everytime.

Authentication gone mad

Absolute sick and tired of the faulty authentication. Logs on via biometrics - or so you think… go to do something and it asks you to login via password and sometimes even MFA.

I’ve got a complex password! I want to use biometrics to not have to type it in multiple times a day.

REALLY disappointed in this update. As a tech professional, I see so many gaps in the implementation it makes me who’s running the show and if things are just going to keep getting worse.

One step forward two backwards!

I used to be able to log in just by face recognition, now I have to log in with my password every single time.

Needs work

The Vancity app has become a meme among users of the app within my circles.This is a result of its notoriously shawty interface and unreliable user experience. It’s actually amazing how far this app has come since I first downloaded, because it’s first incarnation was practically unusable. And then of course there is the added joy of having to delete and re download the app, and set a new password, seemingly every six months. The most recent update solved a lot of bugs but there is still a lot of work to do.

Edit: the recent updates are good! But still a long way to go

This app never gets better

Every update I expect one of the bugs to get fixed, which it may, but only to have another bug come up, or some other functionality not work. Like why have biometric log in when it just goes directly to the normal sign in page?? It looks all pretty and fancy but still has the same old problems!

Annoying

The app seems to refuse to consistently remember your client ID, so you constantly have to go find your debit card to re-enter the number. Super annoying.

Time to move accounts?

I think I have actually missed a payment or two for things because it constantly asks for my number - so then I have to go find my purse… find my card…. Input it (oh and the login asks you to put the ‘last 10 digits’ so you have to count backwards instead of just showing the first few digits and then having clients input the rest. So dumb). It’s super inconvenient. Must’ve given some patronage-type contract to someone connected to make the app…. Maybe if VanCity quit it with all the social justice crap they could focus more on banking?

Probably the worst app I have installed

App is so slow and unresponsive that I literally changed banks.

Keeps asking for card number

Even if you select the “remember me” option, it will automatically forget your number after a week, as part of what I can only assume is an additional security feature. But surely this is unnecessary given that the accounts are already protected by a heavy criteria password. None of the other banking apps I use have this feature. Strongly recommend changing
