Not happy- lots we can’t see
Living in San Francisco so we pay for the player. Very disappointed that the player differs in its content than that of Ireland. Wondering why Operation transformation isn’t on it... it used to be? We were all set to sit down and look. Basically anything we’re interested in for eg a famine program a while back .. that wasn’t on it.. very disappointed that don’t have more content for all of us living abroad.Show lessirish t

I’m living in London for some time now, being able to connect Via RTÉ has been a enormous support from my mental well-being specially during 2020 with all the lockdowns thank you.Paul living in London
Programming
International Player has a very poor choice of programming. A example would be a RTE documentary on the life of Marian Finucane was aired over two weeks ago at home but no sign of it making it to us yet. Please increase the variety of programs and the timing for your international audience. This is our connection to

RTÉ player
Surprisingly bad. It takes so long to load-it crashes a lot-terrible search feature on the app. I gave it one star because there was no option to give it less. I think you get my drift!charls mitchel
Love access to Irish News and Current Affairs
The app can be slow. It freezes on ad breaks. It can be very clunky.

Such a pity
Great shows. Living abroad I love showing my kids the various programs but after each one I have re load the app? How can you still run an app that doesn’t work?LNZPure
It’s ok if I only want to watch first third of any episode
Driving me nuts. I’d like to support the app, I enjoy the selection of dramas on offer, but I can’t rejoin an episode where I stopped watching, it’s hard to follow any series when you get a blank screen one third of the way in where the adds should be, and any effort to stop or restart leads to nothing. Disappointed Expat
This app is a half hearted attempt to say the least. It is slow, cumbersome and the content is poor. A step backwards from its predecessor RTÉ international, which was far from perfect, but at least had some decent content available to watch. Come on guys you can do better than this.Barcan
Pretty good bad interface & control
This review is for the Apple TV app.
The main problem is the interface; there is a gradient across the top of the screen that acts as a background for text while a show is paused; it should vanish when a show is playing but it does not.
The top third of the screen is therefore darker than the rest of the picture while watching a program and it is very distracting.
Every other app on Apple TV will play/pause by clicking the remote but clicking the remote in the RTÉ app brings up controls that are not very intuitive.
I do appreciate being able to watch the news reliably from Los Angeles however. I’ve never had any playback issues.Show lessVelocity_B
