I hope this is just some bugs being ironed out and if so I hope it happens soon. I’ve being getting ads during programs, shows not being posted when they should be and the new app to is not user friendly.

New version doesn’t work very well!
I just updated my RTE player app last week and since then it’s terrible. It’s really slow to open up, quite often I just get a black screen with nothing, and now when I’m trying to watch the news it’s just shutting down altogether. What has happened?? The old version worked great!SimbaPugsley

This App is at a minimum awful, it’s slow to respond when searching for programs, can’t find stuff and when something does finally come online it almost always freezes up with only the sound playing. This has happened every day since the new App came online. While this App may have greater potential for live and archived viewing Vs the old player it usually doesn’t work whereas the old one always did. Please RTÉ fix this or allow us to use the old one limited in function as it was.Show lessOriginal Curley
Very disappointed
Tried to watch The Late Late. The screen constantly went black. I restarted my iPad several times, but finally gave up. I had no problem with the old App. Improvement is needed on this new App.Hamptons Dub
Review of international RTE Player
I'm in Australia and I'm very disappointed by the lack of programmes that are available to watch. Only news, weather, The Late Late Show and old episodes of Operation Transformation. Come on RTE surely you can give us more content and update more regularly? You must show lots of Irish programmes that are on your channels so why can't we see them? App doesn't get Time Zones!
The only way I can watch live programs (from the very limited selection available outside Ireland) is to change the time zone on my iPad to Irish time. Otherwise, if a live show is at 9:00 PM Irish, and it's 4:00 PM US, the app thinks the show will not be available for another 5 hours. This should NOT be hard to fix: either have the app recognize which time zone it is in, or give the user the option to set the local time zone.Show lessFinbarrD
Not quite there yet
Disappointed, looks great, but like the other reviewers state it keeps dropping out my broadband is not the problem. I would really like for this to be fixed, as the content is excellent. Give it another shot lads!!!Eire in Oz

Rté, what are ye playing at? Here I was thinking this would be great. I'm in Australia and was really looking forward to this app coming out. So I try to use it and what d'ya know, it doesn't work. I'm on a 20mb broadband and the videos drop out after 15 seconds and all that's left is the sound! Maybe take it back to the drawing board and sort the glitches out before releasing an app!Show lessMr bishi
