Slow player
The video player is buggy and really quite slow, it sometimes play for a bit then stops, loading shows also doesnt work, you will get a black screen and then move forward and the footage will show up and then go black. Its the same as the web version of RTE player. INCREDIBLY SLOW! Fix it pleaseJ-mah56
It may be good but too slow to experience
I’ve tried multiple times to use this app- it’s so slow to load ANYTHING- you literally have to wait minutes to see any program listings. Just a black screen presented. I’m in Australia so perhaps part of the problem is lack of global data centre infrastructure but ffs the design clearly didn’t cater to this problem - THE MOST IMPORTANT experience feature.Show lessnickynicnic
Useless app
I was forced to upgrade everything in March and this app still doesnt work. Such a waste of time i give up on Rte foreverHotmailwhatmail
Disappointing
It’s exciting to find The RTÉ app to ease the home sickness
but it runs very slow and frequently crashes. You would be brave to try to rewind or fast forward. Would be delighted if it ran well. Would be great to share links to content on social media. Hopefully a new version will fix all this.ballyjune
DISGRACEFUL
If “0” stars was an option! Have not been able to watch a single program!!! Constantly freezes. I paid for the former APP to have access to all options and, while it too had faults, it worked 90% of the time. I love my Saturday mornings when I can watch the Late Late show and Nationwide. Three weeks in a row and I have not been able to watch a single show!!!! I deleted and reinstalled it, still not working. This is embarrassing for RTE.Show lessMaggie0'
RTÉ Player
The previous RTÉ international player worked perfectly for years. I had to do a forced update to the new one which is fine if it updates/improves but lo & behold like someone else said, it’s a black screen with 3 options down the bottom that lead to nowhere. What’s going on?EireSarah
New App is a Disaster
The new RTE App is an unadulterated disaster! I was forced to upgrade to this new and allegedly "improved" App in March, and I use it as I used the old (yellow) version mainly to catch up on news from home (Six One and Nine News). The main problems are that there is either no audio or that audio and video do not sync at all! It baffles me why RTE considers this new App to be an improvement. I have had to delete it altogether because it has been too frustrating!Show lessIain in Canada
“Unbelievable “
App. Does not work anymore. Previous app. Worked fine, watching six one news and cuts off half way through the news. Never returns to finish. Need to get your act the together. Now, everyday I turn app on I get
no results. Just a blank screen.
Thank you for your reply Trisha. I performed all the tasks you mentioned to no avail. I even deleted the RTÉ app, three times from the app, store. The same problem still exists. Please bring back the old RTÉ app so I can get back to normal viewing of the news and Fair city. Very disappointed in this new app.

Waste of time
The RTÉ INTERNATIONAL APP allowed me to choose shows and now it is limited to about 5 shows! Not happy at all!UniKat53
How can they get away with this app?
