Ouch-Shame on Corrlinks!
I had a Corrlink acct a few years ago. I went onto the website to see if I needed to reactivate it. I found I received a email I read and responded. I only received half the website and app. I kept looking for the recharge my acct button. It wasn’t there. In fact out of the 7 menu options I have 4. My account has no way of loading money to send, no photo option, no recharge option. So I downloaded the app thinking maybe I’d have those options there. Nope a box popped up saying I had to have the premium acct because I have a iPhone. That was fine. So it directed me back to the website. The website processed the upgrade to premium and took the money. Guess what, I still can not put money on it my account my for emails to him or for the inmate to emails me, etc. oh can’t forget to mention there is no place to change your last name. In saying that ladies do not get married or divorced and change your name it’s impossible to change it in the website.
I kept trying to contact the company but they do not list their phone number, I did send a couple of emails. I still haven’t heard back from them. I understand the federal government is contracted with them but dang if corrlinks doesn’t act like a very shady company.
P.S. I did look at their reviews and there is site after site with complaints. It’s sad since this is the only way to stay in contact friends and loved ones.Show lessoilip
Not bad but not good enough!
It’s the best solution out now if you want quick access or something close to your prior reality however don’t be fooled that really the best thing about this app. Otherwise it deletes your entire message at time when left for what may be deemed and longer period of time. In addition there’s still a delay in the prisoner actually receiving your message; about a 2 hour delay but again that’s nothing compared to waiting for traditional mail.Show less$!Kim57
Need update
I love being able to use the app, it's much more convenient than having to check the web for messages! No stamps need to be purchased, which is a plus for me, & it notifies you when you have a message. Well, that was until recently, about 2 weeks ago. Now, I've noticed that my iPad will get the notifications but my phone doesn't. So I have to go into the app and refresh it to see if I have a message or a recently added ‘Draft’ message that I want to complete. I also believe if you leave the app with an unfinished message, it should automatically draft the mess. Not that it just deletes it but sometimes it will, I've experienced the app deleting 5 paragraph messages. If I was a cartoon I'd be red hot with smoke coming from my ears! Subscription not worth it
I could have wrote emails and done just fine without paying for the subscription. Waste of money. It’s not even a modern script, it has the old DOS feel to it and like I’m using a dinosaur. I’m trying to approve a video request and it’s taking me in circles. Paying $8.95 for a program that’s older than the hills and I’m hearing a bug fix was finally initiated 4 years later. Wow. I feel bamboozled into paying this $8.95. I’m just trying to find the icon to use to install the video software. My phone is well capable and the latest IOS. I have a feeling the prisons don’t want to pay for anything that could take money out of their own pockets is why we see DOS-type programs when we are way past all that.

Update is so badly needed. The app times out, you can’t scroll because of how bad it lags, sometimes I’ll just hit a message and I just won’t open. I’ll wait 20 seconds and it just won’t open. It does not sync with the desktop correctly so it’s showing that I have unread messages that I can’t find on the app. I’ll be in the middle of writing a message and the whole app just quit. it was really great when I first got it. Zero issues, simple easy software. Whatever they did in this update totally ruined it. The search feature is nice except it so slow. You can’t actually search for anything. Simplify and go back to whatever platform we were using before! I would pay $20 a year if it meant having a fun app!Show lessLow Carb Kate
Once step forward, two steps back
After 4 years of requesting a critical bug be fixed that could cause you to lose everything you typed into an email message, they have finally released an update that fixed the problem. However, it looks like the app has been rewritten in one of the poor cross platform tools and now we have lost simply things such as being able to copy and paste parts of an email which I do often, and the app doesn’t feel or work like an iPhone/iPad app should. While I am grateful for this app and the ability to communicate, the developer clearly needs do to a much better job. Hopefully the next update in 4 years will be better.Show lessJeff Zacharias

Not a fan of new version
There was an update recently that I am not a fan of. The font is smaller so I loose my message & can’t get the curser to the end of the text for whatever reason. I had to restart a whole new message. Maybe it’s a bug. My background is black now. Not sure why that changed & the reason. There’s no option of copy & paste anymore. I’m not happy with it. Put it back how it was
I use to love being able to scroll to the next message and now you have to go back. If you’re looking for a specific one it’s near impossible unless you have a good memory and time to find it. It was so much better in not just that but the way it looks now. It’s so plain and less welcoming plus the changes…. Hope it’s fixed I thought it was my phone and restarted it in hope it wasn’t a actual change. SMH not a fan of this version at all..Show lessMelistrev86
No common sense functionality
I was excited this morning, when I saw that there was a Update, but instead of adding anything useful, they took away one of the most useful abilities (being able to scroll through messages on the messages) and did virtually nothing else, but make it look different. Some things that would actually help the user:
- Being able to leave messages unread
- Being able to forward messages
- Being able to put messages into a Favorites or categorize messages
- Not having a character limit
- Being able to scroll through messages like we used to do without having to completely exit the page
This app is a lifeline from many families, so I hope that the developer start to take it more seriouslyShow less
