  • Fun!

Really fun SNES style side scroller.
  • Great game, but lacks the most basic features.

Great little title, but the game screen is smaller than the screen if your phone, thanks to an enormous blue border, couple that with two black borders on either side of the iPhone 5's screen and the game screen looks ridiculously small. Also, the control stick is not adjustable and is far too close to the dead zones of the black borders causing major control issues. There's also no pause button, or menus and no adjustable features.

If updated to support the iPhone 5's screen/ resolution and possibly the addition of a pause button, iCloud support, filter options for the graphics and adjustable controls, I will change my score to 5 stars.

  • Bad graphic

Low pixelation, bad graphic - difficult to play!
  • Nice port but....

Could do with slightly better resolution.Controls not as good as DSi but touch screens never will be.Seems to be missing the walk option also.
  • A perfect platformer for iOS

And fantastic animation/sound, a must buy if you like platformer games.
  • Using items

How do you use the items ? I can't seem to be able to use any other item other than the map :S
  • Loved it

    A good challenging platform game
    Tastes A bit like popcorn
    Can't wait for the others
  • Great platform adventure.

Played the demo, then bought the full game.
If you are into Snes style platform games then this is for you.
Reminds me of Capcoms SNES version of 'Aladdin' and JVC's 'Hook' game.

Shantae is a beautiful looking game, with graphics done by the best pixel artist in the world.

The only criticism I have for the game so far is that the beautiful pixel art is not at it's best when filtered. Scale up the art of course (even if it looks a bit pixellated and chunky) but have an option to turn filtering / smoothing off, as it makes the art look blurred. I want to be able to see every single pixel.

  • Very impressed!

Only played it for about an hour so far but very impressed! Graphics and animation are extremely impressive and fluid. It is a shame that they have kept the DSi resolution(apparently it started life as a DSiWare game) and used a static background to fill the space but on the bright side it does mean the controls don't cover the action.

Controls are fine for a touchscreen game nice and responsive although personnally I would have liked to have seen a bigger dpad(I have found that on more then one occasion I've been crouch walking when I didn't mean to)

It can definately hold it's weight with the what the SNES had to offer and worth the cost of the game.

  • Very good platform game

Very cool game some parts more challenging than others , all round it has solid characters and is quite addictive , would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys platform games.
