  • Great for traveling China.

I have been using WAYGO alongside other apps that do similar translations and have found that WAYGO is the one to use whenever we are at a restaurant staring at a menu blankly. The translations are less literal and make ordering much less scary.

Hint: If you have multiple iOS devices to install this app on after purchasing the upgrade, you will want to go into settings and "upgrade" on each of your other devices. You will then see a RESTORE feature in the top right. Tap it and as long as you have in app purchases enabled it will upgrade the new device.

  • Useless

Identifies less than 5% of the words. We got farther by simply learning the words for different kinds of meat, because this app is not even capable of recognizing "beef" on a consistent basis.
  • The best app every

I'm really please to have this app it's super great and really useful. I would suggest to make it a free version please.... And would be great if you can have something like voice translation that would be 10 stars from me
  • Useless

Tried to use it in Japan recently and it wasn't able to translate one single word or sign. Don't bother it will just infuriate you like it did me.
  • Useless for Japanese Translations

I used this app during my trip to Japan. I mainly utilised it for simple tasks such as translating signs and menus.
It can probably correctly identify around 10% of the words. Which is absolutelt pointless.

Google translate cannot do real time translations, but is far more accurate. Use the FREE google translate instead.

  • Unhelpful

Tried using this on a trip to Xi'an and Chengdu. Only worked on the most basic of words. I was persistent in trying to get it work but no joy. Not useful. Good concept but has a long way to go.
  • Useless

Downloaded this tool, tested it on local Japanese restaurant menu, seems working. Ok, this has got to be a good start I thought. Went to Japan last few weeks and this thing couldn't even give a half understandable translation at all times, totally useless!
  • Question to Waygo

Please add the Thai language next!!
  • Very useful

Fantastic program. Very useful and it can read a surprisingly good amount of styles. I use it for menus mostly, but have tried it out on all kinds of things. I am however only giving it 4 stars because despite having paid for lifetime use. I still get a message pop up every time I use it asking me whether I want to pay for it. Annoying.

  • With a little practice, it's a worthy translation assistant.

Considering the complexity of deciphering Chinese characters in various conditions, I've found this app to be useful. Learning to adjust it much like a magnifying glass took a little practice but it's provided translation of key words on grocery products, household appliance controls, street signs, and mandarin text books. I think it's a worthy translation tool to have amongst a few others I use to navigate living in China.
