  • Too much fun is barely enough

I've been a fan of Poe’s since childhood, and have never tired of reading his works. This app brings another volume of creepy pleasure, with music, animations and sound effects.
An addiction has started, with more opportunities to follow.
Bravo to those who came up with the idea and those who executed it. 👏👏👏👏👏

  • Great Just Avoid as Bedtime Reading

I love Poe and this is a great way of sharing his works. My only issue is that I decided to read “Red Death” while dozing off and wasn’t prepared for the jump scare.
  • Bummer

Was so excited to try this out and realized the sound doesn’t work!
  • Love this!!!

Another fantastic work. Can wait to read volume 2!!!
  • Great homage to Poe’s works

I really enjoyed the music and illustrations for these classic Poe tales. One feature that would be nice is the ability to lower the volume of the music which was blaring much louder than the sound effects. I was about to give a 5-star review, then a pop-up asked me for a review with only two options, OK and OK. I have to subtract a star for that unfortunately.

  • Super annoyed

The very first thing to pop up when I open the app is a request for a review with the options of “OK” or “OK”. How the heck can I give this app a good review when it instantly removes me from the app and sends me to the review page before I’ve ever use the freaking app. Super annoyed!
  • Damned good app

This app is really well-done, I really enjoy all of the hidden “Easter Egg” type of pop up features..
This is a very entertaining presentation of Poe’s works, which are well worth celebrating
  • Love Poe

I had some glitches early on where it worked fine, then stopped, but after updates, working well again. I use this to help my children engage in these works from an amazing writer..
  • Fantastic

Very very good short but excellent Poe would be proud
  • Flawed work of art

The devs clearly love the material. The elements of sound design music and art design were all clearly doted upon. Why not 5 stars? Firstly, the assumption that there would be an option to have the book read to the user can’t be only my own. Yet, you still must do allthe reading in a time when audiobooks are closing in quickly on the print market. An interactive book- what does that sound like? Sure, some would prefer to “turn” the “pages” and read with their eyes but why not both things? Secondly, as one does read the old fashion words in the old fashion way, even the nerdiest bookworm will encounter a word in the text that is out of use and might as well be a foreign word. No way am I reading an immersive interactive book so I can look up the words in a dictionary or separate dictionary app. Why is there no ability to highlight words, therein providing a built in Apple dictionary to look up what Sagacity means? Or a glossary worth the option to have those archaic words highlighted? Otherwise, this is a very cool and unique upgrade on boring old kindle reading.
